I have a HH mini with a 400watt hps with a eye hortilux bulb set in a cool-tube,i use a 4'' vortex inline for exhast pulling thew a carbon filter.I had a verybadfirst time run.I had a virous, that seems to be world wide from seeing and hearing about other peoples grows.Anyway i just like to make sure my hut a set up right for the next run after some nasty cleaning i have too do.I grow in a shed with is hard to control temps all the time but my mandla seeds take the heat verywell.I didnt have my cool-tube set up last time it got too warm.So plese help me get my cool-tube set up i have i 6'' inline for that. And im not really sure about the intake how do you guys$gals do it thanks so much.PS no rush ive got to bomb and bleach everythingthanks in advance. :fsu:

I added 6" holes in my hydrohut. I have two seperate vent systems in the HH. One for the smell and fresh air in the grow chamber, and one 6" fan for to cool the 1K hps.

So, what i had to do was add 6" holes near the tops, using a flange from HH. I attatched the flange where i wanted the hole, and once the flange was good and tight, i cut the hole. This will keep u from further fucking up shit. I added 2 holes in all.

sorry bout the crossreference icmag...

but here ya go: hydrohut ventilationHydrohut Ventilation

for the vent, i put cardbpard pieces on the outside of the hut to block any light that might get in. I added a 4" inline fan at the bottom to help intake of fresh air in the hut. I have a 4" vortex hooked to filter for grow room air circulation and I have a 6" vortex to cool the 1k hps. Thats what i had to cut holes for. you can see the hold i cut in the pic below.

dusto2k3 so you open just the one flap on the left side fasing front and add a 4''inline to the hole at the bottom of the same side?Is that intake fan just a suncourt fan?It blows like 80 cfms. How did you hang the huge 6'' inline?Thamks for all your help.

Bigbud, i have all the flaps takin in air. Plus the little 4" 80 cfm fan to help out the passive intake. I have the 4" on a speedster fan control so i can control the amount of air it removes form the hut. The 6" is hung from the bars that span the roof of the hut. The fan is immedieatley on the other side of the flange that you can see in the pic above. I just screwed on the two brackets that came with the fan.

there are flaps on all three non-door sides.

I just set my mini up last week with a 400W Hortilux.

Check my grow thread out. I have pics of how I did my fans, etc. I exhaust into the same room I draw fresh air from too. I am able to maintain the hut at 2-3 degrees F above the ambient room temp.

If you have questions about my setup, just holler

Both these daytons are very quiet IMO

Here is my 6" Dayton 465 squirrel cage pulling air from the top 4" vent on rear wall, not the ceiling vent. It is pulling through my scrubber inside. I had to use a 4x6" adapter but the Dayton handles that well. I cycle this blower on just before lights on and it runs till 1/2 hours after lights out.

This is a small 4" Dayton squirrel cage blower (sold as a bathroom fan)for my forced fresh air supply. It is a 4" model rated at about 95CFM. I keep it on 24/7

My seedlings tonight

dusto2k3 thats alot of wieght you have there. My problem with going this way is my carbon scubber is on the inside with my 4'' vortex.I need to hamg my huge 6''inline safely,to cool my light. If youre running a 1000watt,i should be fine with reducing the (light)ductwork to 4'' so i dont have to make 6'' holes in my hut, what do you think? Thanks for all your help.

That 6" should cool 1 1K fine even if u reduce., you will see a rise in your temps tho inside the hut even with the fan and air cooling. If you have everything on one fan, you shouldn't need to make holes. I have 2 fans, thus two sets of holes.
