I just bought a 4x4 Hydro Hut and overpaid for it. Oh well... it's freakkkking cool. I have a few questions. I bought a 4'' scrubber and a 4'' fan for my hut and planned on doing 9 girls in there.

How many plants do you guys usually put in a 4x4 hut? I don't want to over do but I want to be efficient.

It'll be 3.5gal buckets for height reasons, 400 watt hps with a conversion bulb for veg. No co2 supplement and FF nutes. I want max yeilds, should I scrog in a hut?

Not at all new to indoor cultivating but a virgin as far as tents go. Help me out guys, any input is appreciated.

I'm using the 4' x 4' Homebox XL. I usually run about 10...give or take...depends on if you're doing Sea of Green or Bushes.

This run I'll be doing a SCROG with just two D-39...pics taken today...not trained yet.

I have a Hydrohut 4x4 original,i run a 1000 watt hps lamp in a Sunsystem vented reflector with a glass cover,and have a 4 inch vortex fan that has its intake connected to a carbon filter and the exhaust runs through the reflector then out of the hut. I have a speed controller on the fan to turn it down at night for a little more quit. Im currently growing 24 plants in 1 gallon buckets in soil and the plants are about 24 to 30 inches tall with heavy buds
and just a few days from harvesting. I have this set up in a spare bedroom and run the exaust from the ducting out of the room using a small booster fan hung from the ceiling by the door,i also use a box fan setting on the floor in the doorway to bring fresh air in. I also leave the front flap all the way open when the lamp is on. With this system the temp of the hut stays within 1or2 degrees of the temp of the house. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help guys. I think I'm going to start with 15 seedlings and hope for at least a 2/3 female ratio. Is there any way for me to increase my female/male ratio? I plan on vegging for 4-5 weeks with my 2 agrostar flouros. Then stick my 400 watt HPS up and place the ballast outside of the hut.

Wouldn't you guys agree that as long as my temps are ok, I shouldn't have to run my fan/scrubber until after a week or 2 into flower? I'm going to do DWC but the thing is, how often do you really need to flush your plants? Once every month? It's a pain having to carry 12-15 seperate buckets back and forth if you know what I'm sayin. I figured with hydrozyme & hydrogaurd and FF nutes I should be fine flushing one week before 12/12 and one week after when I change nutes for flower. Any advice is cool as shit.

Am I better off vegging with my HPS then my flouros?

I'll post pics tomorrow when it's completed and waiting on the soon to be occupants.

i would start 30 seeds in a xl and you would end up with probably 15 females. i started 16 in my mini in 4" pots. then I transplant to these 1 gal pots as you can see there is plenty of room

then I transplant into there final pots which are 3 gal an veg for another 2 weeks


I ended up with 8 females

I'm just worried about being able to train them, I hate having to wait until the light switch to tell if they're male or female. What a jew.

Take some cuttings while vegging and put them to flower somewhere else , a small cabinet or something with cfls 12/12 they'll tell you in a week or so what they are . that way you wont be wasting your time and your Space on males . but dont forget to mark each one so you know which plant their from . he he

On the scrubber , i would run it anyway , you will get a smell from room , not a grass stink but a green smell of plants .

I flush once a month , But I do change the res completely every 2 weeks, and as for carrying water , buy a hose and run it to your grow, thats what i do , i don't know much about DWC , but im sure you use a pump some where , connect it to hose to empty res. , then fill from tap. thats what i do anyway.

I vegg with enviros and they do the job well for me .
