HYDROFARM SUCKS THREAD!

probably should be in equipment. but i figured id give a place to vent about the shoddy HF equipment. in particular i hate there CO2 regulators...
always getting silinoids that get stuck and the tank drains prematurly...

its on 0 again... not even a week old...
i replaced it 2 times with brand new units 'in the box' and a 3rd time now...
im glad my hydroguy is cool and hands me a newbox but some people dont have that luxery...

my cat ate some of the bad IAMS food with the melamiene in it. i spent almost 1k on tests/liver treatments!dont worry im in the class-action

I've had tremendous success with hydrofarm lights, hydro systems, nutes etc I have 20 yr old 400 mh lamps that work great.I kind of depend on their quality I hope they don't go downhill.

Dude, I had the exact same thing happen to me with my hydrofarm c02 regulator. I would come home and the thing had dumped all the god damned c02 in the room. All the parts were even frozen solid with a coat of ice because of it. It happened a couple times until I installed an old piece of crap looking regulator that a friend gave me that works just fine.

Thanks for the heads up on the hydrofarm equipment. My growroom is still not quite dialed in for the CO2. yet. I was told not to put it in until you have pushed it as far as you can go. Not there yet at almost 3 years and I would have to adjust my intake from passive to active.

i have 4 of the Daystar A/C's and there MODERATE. if i didnt get these id have definately goten me some Silverstars... there the same idea work just aswell but have a wider throw. all Galaxy 600w Digital ballasts 2-3 years old with no problems.

I'll sign on to this one. I've had 2 of these hunks of crap do the exact same thing. I come in to find the tank empty and the valve frozen over.

Not going to buy another one of these crappers, that's for sure.

i had the same prob with the hydrofarm co2 reg.. i bitched (politely) to the shop i bought it from. they gave me full credit for the hf reg towards a green air unit and exchanged my co2 tank at no charge. very good service at berkeley's secret garden

i feed my dogs natural balance :smile:

Hey DHF-

It's not IAM's per se, but the wheat gluten they (and others) used that was bulk imported from china (melamine contaminated) and sold to the North American pet food manufacturers. There's a class action suit underway right now, so I'm sure people have learned their lesson about where they get their raw ingredients from (hopefully!!!). I feed my mutts natural balance, too.

As far as HydroFarm goes, my daystar AC works like a champ, as well as my 1k and 400W ballasts after 3 years. If I ever go the CO2 bottle route, I'll be sure to avoid their setups until they say Made In USA on them.

as far as i understand, you need one of these flow valves before u can use co2 dispensors...
i was looking at "the fuzzy" co2 meter...and this co2 valve plugs into the fuzzy and the fuzzy controls when its on/off... im assumeing thoes controllers do the same thing? or does it mount to the tank with its own flow-meter? my hydroguy says the fuzzy just turn it on and off rather then a timer...
im assuming they all do.
any links?

hydrofarm makes excellent light systems but sadly there equipment like light movers and co2 regulators suck.
