Hydro nutes in soil?? P defiency?

I currently am growing out Nirvana white widow, and Bog's sour bubble BX3.
I am growing them in perfect mix potting soil with perlite added in a ratio of a handfull of this to a little bit of that. For nutes, i am using some GH floranova , i had left over from a failed hydro attempt a few years ago.

I seem to be having a potassium deficiency going on with the WW.(necrotic spots between the veins, and stretchy plants) The sour bubble shows the slightest symptoms of the P deficiency. Would this be due to the hydro nutes being used in soil?, the nutes being almost 2 years old?, or is WW a Potassium hog, and generally needs a little more then the Sour bubble does??

My last watering i used bloom formula on the WW, and it seems to have helped some, the new growth isnt stretching as bad, and the next leaves up arenot showing the yellowing and brown spots ,as the ones below are. ( i am assuming a P def. starts at the bottom leaves and moves up .)

Other than pointing out the obvious, and reccomending that i get PBP or other soil nutes, is there any thing else i can do to remedy this ?

PH is 6.3-6.5 ish
400 W Hortilux
Plants repotted every 10 days or so, when the roots start to show thru the drain holes in the pot . Thanks all :)

Hydro nutes can be used in soil, and flora nova looks fairly complete (there are different types, but all have a bit of NPK). Only two things could be Flora Nova lacks trace minerals and your deficient in something else (dont know if it contians trace elements). Or it is out of date and useless (dont know if can go bad.... my dynagro has worked after being left in a hot car for days and months in the garage. Not years tho)

*edit* or nute hog, which would be the best option

There is nothing wrong with flora nova in a soil grow. Because it has calcium and magnesium you should use little to no dolomite lime. You control the ph by adjusting the fert water ph before applying. Are you doing this? If you had both potassium and phosphorus deficiency, I might think either the ph is high, fert water is not strong enough, or you used too much dolomite lime in conjunction with the cal mag in the floranova. What's in your soil mix? Why are you repotting every 10 days? Just because you see roots at the drain hole does not mean rootbound.

How to test ph: After watering and ferting well till runoff occurs, wait 30 minutes. Apply a small amount of distilled water till 1 ounce of runoff occurs. Catch this on a saucer. Test ph. If after watering/ferting and waiting 30 minutes you can tilt the pot and get liquid out, you can test that instead.

Hey thanks for the replies all :) I noticed i just got a PM from some one, but unfortunately, this is a new name i am using( cant remember the password to the old one), and can not get to my PM's. I can apreciate the preventative measures implimented to the PM and chat , but what a pain in the ass of the legit users here :)

Black velvet i am not using anything in my potting pix at all, just as stated before , potting soil, and perlite, PH is 6.3- 6.5 ish tested using the runoff , but thanks for the refresher course. and pots are usually root bound in 10 to 14 days, when i repot , i goto a pot that is slightly larger then the previous, never a drastic jump in size..... why you may ask? simply because i like to :)

Irie Islander , thanks for your reply :) i think you are correct, the WW must be a nute hog .

6.3-6.5 ph is perfect for soil. Only want to cut that back to 5.5-6 in hydro. Or 5-5.5 for clones (stay closer to 5.5).

And a drastic change in pot size is good. (16oz beer cup to 1/2 or 1 gal container to 2-5 gal for flower/finish. Im going 1/2gal to 2gal to 5gal, huge jump in the end, the larger pot size after transplant helps plants to explode in growth, cuz they dont "touch" anywalls and slow their growth.

Are you using tap water? cuz I used to have alot of necrotic spots when I watered with straight tap water (high in chlorine). After catching some rain, and letting tap water sit, it slowly recovered. Didn't seem to slow growth, but boy was it UGLY

Irie Islander thanks for stopping in agian :)
I use 50 % tap water that hasd sat over night to evaporate the chlorine out, and the other 50% is RO water
The plants are now in 2 gallon, and 2 weeks before flower i will go to 5 gallon buckets. Its only for the first month or so that i do the frequent repotting.More of an expierment thing i am doing. hopefully i will get a new camera soon, and can get some pics posted. Current camera doesnt like Vista, and having troubles with the drivers.

Also to be on the safeside i will get soil nutes for flowering. PBP maybe i dunno, any suggestions, i am a keep it simple person, would rather not have to make a 20 additive nute. Some on here seem to like to add all the latest snake oils, and magic elixers hey can find .
thanks agian for the reply

A.N, Foxfarm, Dyna-Gro

A.N, Foxfarm, Dyna-Gro

I like to make magic elixers and the like :) But seabird guano, bat guano and wormcastings are extremely hard to find (eventually will wormfarm)

So right now all I use is dynagro and fish emulsion all the way. Nice thing about it is every bottle has trace elements, so no defs. Altho, if you can afford it Advanced Nutrients is the way to go. (had a brief run, but dayum shipping sucks). Soiless mix and hydro ferts is how I roll :)

I use Liquid Gro 7-9-5 (can foiliar spray); Foliage Pro (9-3-6); Hi-n-Pro(10-5-5)
and last, but not least liquid bloom (3-12-6) (could see em fatten up every day)

During veg mostly use Liquid Gro, and Hi-n-Pro, and flower Liquid Bloom (occasionaly switch off for Schultz bloomer, 10-15-10, works great, but I saw more growth w/ Dyna Gro.

Dyna Gro used to be very popular in the OG days, but foxfarm and Advanced nutrients seem to have pushed them out, but for me "If it aint broke, and shipping is "highway robbery", dont fix it."

Hydro nutes are ok, dont know what soil nutes would be.... same thing I would think. Just cut the dosage in half, and slowly work your way up. W/ Dyna gro, its says use 1/2 Tsp per gallon... well I was able to get it up to 2 TBsp per gallon :), lovely green liquid. Fattened them buds up before my eyes. Sucks too, cuz I had just found out the max I could go w/ that strain and had to chop it early, to make cash for equipment... fucker stalled for a week. Could have added another 5-10 grams dry on that thing :badday:
