Hydro Crunch Reviews and Opinions

A place to post your opinions on Hydro Crunch brand products.

We've had this hood for a while now. It's just as nice as the Hydrofarm beside it and cost considerably less. In fact, because it's made from a slightly thinner metal, it's lighter than the Raptor, making it even more attractive to those with weight considerations.

So, because of our positive experience with this, we've gone ahead and purchased one of these. It's on the way.
The one we chose comes with Philips 3100K bulbs, adjustable rope hangers, cord with 240v adapter, and a 120v timer for $347.75 delivered. (Ebay)

Seems like a good deal.
Hoping to get some feedback.

here's some feedback... i bought '2' 315's off of ebay last year - the whole package was 185bucks delivered- it included the hydro crunch ballast (2year warr), hydro crunch 3100k bulb, rope/hanger,timer and hood - my hood looks like the top picture, glass enclosed (i took off the glass) and u can air cool em

i did '1' grow with the 2 of em in a 4'x3'6'' tent - i didnt think the '2' provided enough light so added an 8bulb 4ft fluor which fuk'd up the grow a bit as the fluor's added tooo much heat...

i asked on numerous posts for opinions on hydro crunch, n got few (very few) replies, so i am figuring not being used much by guys on this site- i did get '1' reply advising to use philips agro bulbs - i bought '2' of em, using one at the moment, but honestly to the naked eye the philips does not look any brighter ...

Has everything worked properly? How would you compare the quality of the equipment vs established brands? Would you purchase Hydro Crunch products again?

everything has worked fine...so far.... both on timers, come on when they should... the ballast's are remote, outside the tent, which helps keeping down the temp. the ballast's are much cooler to the touch then hps's which are my only guide.

since we only grew in the past with hps/mh from hydrofarm/sun systems/etc i can't compare the quality with other brands...

its been about a year since i purchased the h. crunch equip n all's been good... again... so far... based on the short experience with them, n no experience with other manufacturers , yes i would purchase it again...

as to hps vs cmh, the 315's can't hold a candle to a 1000w (obviously) - others have said that a 315 should be equal to between a 400/600w hps - if that be the case my '2' 315's in a 4x3.5' tent should equal at least 800w of hps, maybe more , and i don't think thats the case- hopefully someone can chime in who has more time/more knowledgeable with both- i am by no means an expert in either....
