Hey IC.... im mostly a lurker but i have run into a problem and need some advice from some HVAC friendly members!

I am almost finished setting up a 9x20 completly sealed grow room.
Running 10 1k magnetic ballasts in lumatek sealed 6" vented hoods, intake pulls from outside of room and exhaust vents outside as well...duh!

My question is, what can i use other than an AC to cool this room? I have looked at the kwikool portable ac's as they do not pull air from the grow room and exhaust it... but if im going to spend that kind of money i want to look in to the water cooled air chillers, kind of like the ones in a walk in freezer. what are my options? and what is best bang for my buck? Id like to keep it under 2000$ but it isnt a must. who can help me?

A 2hp chiller will run you about $2k by itself, apartmentblower uses these big indoor heat exchangers in his grow (can't remember the website) but they were about 1500 too. Not a cheap solution to buy, but more energy efficient than most AC setups.

I'm looking at the 3 and 5-ton units on coolerado.com, the 5 ton only draws 600w and uses 1 gallon of water per hour! It's $5k but would pay for itself with the huge electrical savings.

ok thanks for the replies so far, so i see some of those '3 fan chillers' in some of the medi grows on www.urbangrower.com, those must require a water chiller too?

before looking into chillers i was looking at the kwikool portables..... but im pretty sure for the price of a 2ton or so kwikool (4-6k$) i could get a pretty bad ass water cooled 'air chiller'?

Sorry for my crappy hvac lingo as i know little to nothing on this subject.
If anyone has some more actual brand name units they can sugest, i would appreciate it!

yeah google heat exchangers and chillers, lots to choose from on the web, finding btu info on exchangers is tricky tho, good luck. Ask apartmentblower for more details on his box.
