Hurricane fans

I'm looking to buy a new fan tomorrow and the best deal I have found was a 6 inch Hurricane. Are these good fans? Quite? I own a vortex and its good and its quite but looking to save a little.

I am currently using an 8" on my carbon scrubber with no issue. It has been running for well over two years all day and night.

I believe they went by the brand valuline before being changed to hurricane. I have had a valuline 6" for over 5 years with no issues.

the hurricanes are good fans. Very very reliable.

The majority of the "noise" fans produce is from turbulence...having said that, hurricanes and all 'value brand' inline fans are going to have some 'motor noise". If you are looking for a good reliable cheap fan you can't go wrong with the hurricanes.

If you want a super quiet fan...look at the hyper fans. When the air is dampened with a scrubber or muffler, there is almost zero 'motor noise". It's also the most efficient fan I've come across ever. I did the math, if I switched over 8" max fans to 8" Hypers. My savings in electrical consumption will pay for the fan in less than one year. This was based on .10 per kWh.
