Damn, this was just opted over at The Shroomery. Hunter S. Thompson was great, but I always knew things would end badly.

I'm not following your logic here friend. Seems life was pretty good from what I just read.

Pretty sure if your refering to him offing himself...that was his choice to make. :tiphat:

I'll never forget the first time I saw Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. It was the best ride ever for a movie for me. I normally am not a movie watcher because I'm usually writing, smoking, or trying to occupy my mind with something else besides movies or tv, but I do like a lot of movies and tv shows, just don't have the attention span for it most of the time..but FLLV was the best movie I'd ever seen at that point in my life..totally ridiculous and off the wall mischief...loved the painting scene in the bathroom with the girl..hahahahhaha..so f'n weird man, but so f'n funny too. Now I have a few posters, some articles about him from the web and I don't know what happened to my copies of FLLV, but there here somewhere I imagine.

the best time I ever had in my entire life was watching FLLV and tripping on shrooms with a few friends one summer..we sat native american style on the floor of the apartment living room and watched the movie and ate tangy taffy , smoked weed/cigs, drank orange juice with vodka and laughed for hours because we watched it twice that day and both times it was a total riot. I took a hit of schwag bud and stood up really fast to get some water or something in the kitchen, passed out cold for some reason and fell to the floor in a clump..woke up laughing hysterically.

Bill Murray did a great job playing HST in "Where the buffalo roam" the original fear and loathing in las vegas.

hahaha...oh man, that movie changed my perspective on life..I mean seriously did..I never looked at a human the same again without thinking of the scene where they were all twisted on that ether in vegas trying to get into the place..and the whole scene with the lady at the desk had me in stitches for days if not months after the fact...I would just be talking to a friend or my girl at the time and I'd think of hunter and his lawyer tripping balls in the hot vegas sun while trying to write some piece of gonzo journalism while chasing down some dudes in a dune buggy....that movie made me want live life to the fullest..the american flag scene where they're in the water..god, so many good times were had to watching that movie.

a very intense schedule, every activity noted, except bathroom breaks unless that's what he used the hot tub for @ 6am.......

I hope I'm not sipping coffee when someone blurts out, "yeah! I even shared a hot tub with Hunter S Thompson one day."

I think Hunter had some fun that's for sure. Sad to hear when he passed away a few years ago..not shocked, just kinda sick to the stomach feeling...made me kinda sad, but that's the way he wanted it.

Funny to think that he did some of that crazy stuff in Colorado..makes me like CO even more :) because hunter called it home..haha...what a wild dude he was.
