I just installed an AC in my grow room to bring down the temps on a test run it lowered the temps but the humidity started getting too high. what can be done about this?

Well an ac unit is a dehumidifier. that is what the water is dripping out the back. i suspect you have a faulty humidity meter.

A dehumidifer runs between $160-250, but it's going to add heat to your room. I don't see why the humidity would go up when the AC is on...maybe when the lights are off.

I wish mine had an actual dial...I just get Normal, Dry, Max Dry and Continuous Run. Works great though. Took it from 77% to 50%. I turned my AC off recently though. I couldn't see running an extra 12A worth of stuff when the dehumid offset the cooling of the AC anyway.

hardseed, It would be a waste of money to keep venting while running an AC.

how long did you run it for? and is it set to let fresh air in, or recirculate? is there a source of water in your test run, (is your bubbler bubbling?)
