well the specs are as follow..

10x16x7h the room is completely sealed there is currently only some ladies in veg with a 400w MH i decided to put a temp and RH meter in there and see what i got for max n min.. the temp has gone the lowest of 70f to the highest of 76f but the humidity has gone from 65ish to 80ish%.

i purchased a 65pint dehumidifier and now it stays between 45-55% and it was set at 50%...the room has an AC and the AC is set for 74f..

my concern is will this dehumidifer be enough when everything is up and running? 8kw not air cooled or nothing no vents no nothing and there will be 20 ladies in blaze's DWC recirc system...

before anyone says ima have to air cool the lights etc...i have a big enough ac pumpin in the room with lights on (all 8) i kept the inside room temp at 76 :joint:

8K will certainly take the rh down, have you run the lights in there yet to test?

Have you tried to run the a/c unit in that room and check humidity with it on? I know you have it set at 74, but have you run it to see what the humidity is with the a/c on and the dehumidifier off?
I only ask because I know a/c units dehumidify while they cool. I was wondering if the a/c unit alone would dehumidify the room enough to not have to use the dehumidifier. I have a 65 pint as well, but never really have to use it b/c my a/c unit takes out enough water on it's own.

8K watts? Holy cow... that must be a serious a/c unit you have there to keep it at 76... I'd like to see a pic of that!

8 - 1000 watt lights in that small of a space is crazy! I mean cool crazy, but still crazy none the less. I can't understand how the grow could keep cool enough with the room being completely sealed, being that small, having no air cooled hoods and no intake or exhaust. You say you ran the room already with the 8 lights and the air pumping and it stayed within an acceptable range? What make and model air conditioner unit are you using? I need one like that!

I would love to see your set up so please post some pictures if possible. I love large grows with many lights, and with a room that size your buds will be huge and impressive!

I think if your air conditioner can handle that amount of heat I would think it would handle the humidity also on its own. If not just add the dehumidifier. I got a 60 pint unit also and it works well for my 4 - 1000 watt HPS.

im not doubting that the a/c wont handle the humidity but my issue is when lights are off the room is so sealed that the a/c barely turns on and the room at night sometimes goes a couple degrees or so below my set temp therefor no a/c turns on at night..

TGT and Girth, my A/C unit is a 5ton A/c.. a regular house a/c :joint:

whole setup cost about 1500.. that excelair crap woulda cost me about 3k easily :bashhead:

Haps..i have and im not worried about the humidity during the time the lights are on as the air runs for the majority of the time with them burning...when they go out is the issue

Then the 60 pint dehumidifier will work perfectly in my opinion. The house air conditioner you are using, is it hooked up to cool the entire house or just the grow room.

wow... a 5-ton house unit? That's good stuff man. :headbange
If you have the 65-pint dehumidifier then you should be good for the lights off cycle. That's more than enough to dehumidify an entire house (or so it says on the box of mine). The only question/concern I would have is the temperatures in your room at night. My 65-pint unit pumps tons of hot air out the back as it runs, so I'm guessing that if you left it on all night, it would possibly heat up your room to an undesirable temperature. If it didn't, then your problem should be solved with the purchase of a timer for the dehumidifier. You could also try to install it so that the front of the unit is inside the grow room while the back of the unit is blowing the hot air outside of the room, but I don't know how that would affect your setup being in a sealed room and all.

TGT its strictly only for the med room :joint:

girth it has a digital control and only turns on when the humidity is below my set % on the dehumidifer...the heat going into the room is not an issue as if it does get above the temp the a/c is set for the a/c will kick in
