Humidifier for 800sq ft

With my 12k btu AC running full blast the RH in my 9x11x9 sealed room drops to <35%. Not good, particularly with C02.

Would making a swamp cooler from a 5 gallon bucket be sufficient to raise the RH to 60%-70%? I could have the AC condensate line feed directly into it, that could be convenient.

Thanks!

While I can't say for certain that your idea would work because I haven't tried to build one, I'd say it's a damn solid bet. A humidifier is usually just a water reservoir with wicking material and a fan blowing the air through the wicking material. Basically, a glorified swamp cooler. The amount of humidity added to the room would depend mostly on the size of your wicking medium, and more importantly, your fan.
