Humboldt Train Wreck

Here it is, the latest Train Wreck from Humboldt. These beauties were grown with the help of carbon dioxide which made the buds both bigger and tighter. It smells like lemon pledge with a gasoline chaser and has a creeper buzz that is just tops.

LOL, poor Nancy Wife called me when I was out of town looking for where I had put some Sweet Cindy. Well, I didn't explain it well and she found the Wreck instead. She ended up stuck in the swimming pool for 2 hours and was mad as hell :)

Train Wreck can be very disorienting.

so that was grown in Eureka? nice...Though I really only consider southern Humboldt "humboldt", Garberville, Alder's point Honeydew.....ahhh....nothing like Ancient redwood groves and acres of fine cannabis

Hey does anyone know what ever happened to the Honeydew bud grown in Humboldt? I used to get it once in awhile back in the early to mid 90's but haven't seen any since. From what I understand it was one of those old school Emerald Triangle strains that only a certain group of old DeadHead growers had and they really cherished it alot , I know that it was a real treat to get it every so often. Talking of Humboldt...

Talking of Humboldt...

Have any of you folks grown/know of/smoked a strain called Humboldt SnowBud at all?.
I got 5 seeds from a friend in Humboldt who smokes nothing else, she uses it medicinally, H.SnowBud and TrainWreck. I believe she had a SnowBud x Trainwreck going for a while?.

Anyway, this SnowBud is really potent bud!, I found I can't smoke it until it's been cured for approx another 4 weeks or so after it's dried due to it being so resinous. It just seems to give me a real 'tickly cough' otherwise and I don't enjoy smoking it as I'm in fits of coughing & spluttering between every draw LoL.

The closest thing I've came to it is T.H.Seed's Akorn aka SnowBud?, it looks and grows identically although in a comparision grow I did of both, I'd have to say that the Humboldt strain seemed to be the most popular?.

All the Best, Esskie.

Yes, I've smoked Snowbud out of Humboldt and it IS one of the most potent Indica's around. I can also share that Snowbud has been crossed with Train Wreck and should make an appearance soon.

Heres a pic of my Humboldt SnowBud momma plant, straight from Humboldt Co. :canabis:

I'm afraid she isn't looking her best atm as I had given her to a friend to baby-sit for a couple of months before x-mas and I got her back at/on/or just after x-mas(?) lookin a little worse for wear  .

Anyways, with a lotta TLC & some SuperThrive etc, she is now coming back to her former glory. I'll be takin a couple of cuttings from her very soon as it's been a wee while since I had her in the 12s.
Wish I had got a male from those seeds too  . That's been my intention when comparing the Akorn aka SnowBud, ie; if they were the same?, then pollinate my female to make more H.S/Bud seeds.

She looks like she's getting her health back Esskie. I'm not sure about Akorn being Snowbud. If so there should be a lot more heard about Akorn since Snowbud is a stunner and would be wildly popular if available.

The cross I just heard about is a male Aracta Train Wreck (same strain as mine) with a Snowbud female. I think the F-1 will be laregly Indica but unlike most Train Wreck hybrids this one could actually be more potent than either parent.

Hi DrJay  ,
My point exactly my friend, maybe what I meant was lost between my brain and me typing it, that happens a lot LoL  .

No, I don't think the Akorn aka SnowBud was/is anywhere near/like the Humboldt SnowBud, maybe in looks a bit? but the final resin production and sheer potency of the Humboldt SnowBud far surpasses the Akorn imho.

You should have seen her 1 month before that pic was taken man!, I thought she was a gonner like  . That would have broke my heart dude, out of all the plants I've grown and batches of plants I've chosen and kept 'keepers' from, this one just seems to go beyond that?.
Hard to explain, I've had her so long now I suppose it's sentimental to me lol :canabis: . I've just been bending one of the two main shoots on her out & down to allow more light into the centre of the plant as I hope to take a flush of cuttings from her anytime soon now.
From those cuttings a new motherplant will be kept and this one flowered out I think.

Really happy to have bumped into you guys though! :friends: , would you believe that you're of the few people who know the strain who I've spoken to?!.
Basically, from what I have seen from where I'm standing anyway, not a lot of people/growers have heard of Humboldt SnowBud. Apparently there's a SnowBud (that originated from Humboldt Co.?) strain for sale in the Seed Shop section of the Compassion Corner forums but it's mentioned as leaning toward the sativa side???, doesn't make sense ya know? so I have my doubts about it being the same strain as my plant?.

There IS a chance there's at least some Sativa in Snowbud but not very much at all.

I prefer Sativa's but have grown and/or smoked some great Indica's including Maple Leaf Indica, G-13 Hash Plant, Black Domina, etc. and Snowbud was the strongest of my experience with the possible exception of one weird strain that no one has heard of called "Bwanana". That shit has an orange resin crust on it and just sends you into the galaxy.

That Bwanana could give Snowbud a run for it's money but it's for the winner of couchlock of the year.

Really?!

Really?!

I've always came up against a brickwall when attempting to try and find out more of the ancestory of the strain, well when you consider that most folks I spoke to about it knew very little or nothing about it to begin with.

The grower in Humboldt Co. whom I got the most info from had suggested that she'd heard there was some "hash making strain" in there possibly but this is very vague.
I mean everything from Morrocco to Nepal and beyond has been used to make hash at some point. She was of course reffering to an indica strain bred for resin production.

What do you know/have you heard regarding the sativa/ancestory etc?, I'd be intrigued to 'find another piece of the jigsaw' as it were lol.

I hear ya there man!, G13, G13xHP, J.Herer x HP and have grown SnowBud alongside Serious's AK-47 and White Russian in the same grow but the S/Bud was always the favourite.

Even putting it in unmarked bowls with AK-47 and White Russian on the table with a couple of friends for a smoke test, the SnowBud still came out on top. This was from the first grow of it I did, it doesn't half get much better with a decent cure though huh  .
