htg supply grow tent

htgsupply.com they sell there own grow tent. i just purchased and got it in mail today. i put it up and all, looks good. but the corner pieces are cheap plastic that easily crack but they sent extras so thats good. but the roof is SUPER flimsy. i got a 6 inch 449 cfm fan hanging but it brings those support wires at the top down alot i dont think this can handle the weight of adding my light and scrubber. its a largest model they sell any one have expierance with there huts? can they support it, does it just look flimsy?

also ordered a 1000 watt light to complement it but that came with the cool tube broken so that was dissapointing.

waiting on that then ill post pics, i been veggining since aug 1st so this is a un needed delay.

Personally, if I bought any product (mail order) that flimsy it would go back, with an explanation and a refund request. Build one with 2 x 2's, framed like a conventional wall, with a door and jamb and 3/8" drywall ceiling and walls for under $100.

As I have never seen one in the "flesh" its hard to figure. The frame work could be bolstered with some 2 x 2 supports per chance, however regards the corners all I can think of is preformed rigid plastic corner guards. You have probably seen them on the outside corners of walls in hospitals, offices and the like. They protect the plaster or drywall from damage when gurneys, carts and the like bump into them. Available at builders supply houses.

How to attach them? Would need more information to even hazard a guess.

Does this help so far?

na the frame is fine, its the things these metal poles i got going 2 poles going horizontal 2 poles going other way, they intersect up top then u hang shit off of that, atleast thats what your suppose to do but i dunno man i did that and its weak i want something that would be stronger.

You really should ask for a refund and buy yourself a "hydrohut" mini(39"x39"x78") or whatever size hut you want.

I checked the site you bought that tent from. You can buy the original Hydrohut for the same money...and it is VERY well built. I know because I have one. The corner brackets on the Hydrohuts are steel and very strong. I have my light and filter hanging in the top and virtually no sagging.

There's no good way to reinforce what you have.

Send your tent back and get a refund. Buy a Hydrohut. You won't be sorry.

I have the Hydrohut "mini" here with 9 plants in 4 gallon pots. 4 ThaiTanic in right front, the other 5 are Satori. Day 37 of flower here.

I have to agree with MTweedman on this one. I too have a HH Mini and it is bad to the bone. Filter and fan mounted at the top with barely any sagging at all. Very well made and engineered product, worth every penny. Id send your ripoff hut back and ask for a refund.

Have to agree, I have the hydrohut reg. and it rocks.

Send it back, get an HH. not a knock-off.

Don't despair: If you really want to keep it check this out: Acquire some 1" pvc and fittings and press fit an interior frame for the rag hut.

Those huts aren't cheap. But I guess if one doesn't have the means of building, and has the $ to spare.... go for it. But would the extra money indeed benifit in a product that would last longer than one built by hand?

The beauty is they break down quick and don't raise eyebrows.

Carrying 2 X 4's into an apt, let alone sheetrock, is gonna get people wondering. Breaking it down when moving is a PITA.

The Huts/Boxes are built for growing, they're really nice! :D

press fit the pvc inner frame (don't glue it) and it will break down, might take a few minutes more.....what's the rush?

One cannot be a winner if one does not have the balls to try out new things and approaches. By the way, 2 x 2's were mentioned, not 2 x4's.

I have a 4' x 8' hydrohut (very well built I must add) and a 4' x 4' hydrohut. I love the build quality and the fact that it is the 'original' hut, not some cheap knock-off. I dislike the standard setup that the hydrohut comes with for the ceiling, although it is pretty sturdy. I needed to hang 3 reflectors in the hut so I got a 10' piece of galvanized steel pipe at Home Depot, cut it to size, and ran it across the top of the entire hut lined up directly in the center. I simply sandwiched it between the original ceiling and the outer tarp material. It caused the ceiling to bow inwards about 3/4" but it is very sturdy and can hold well over 50 lbs without compromising the hut.

I don't know if you'd be able to do this with your hut as you mentioned the corner pieces are plastic. By adding the rod on top of my hut and bowing the roof it put extra stress on the corner pieces- not a problem with the hydrohut since the corners are heavy duty steel brackets.

i was thinking about getting two of the small htg tents. they run 20 in x 3 ft x 5.3 ft, perfect for stealth since they are smaller. got the 4 x 4 hydrohut right now and that thing is flipping huge! can't really play it off as a clothes wardrobe. i wanted to have 2 400w digi hps both of them running opposite of each other 12/12 and cooling with one stanley blower that would be double-draw modded so that it was pulling air 24/7 from both tents. they run for about $150 a piece. can you get metal replacements at a hardware store?
