HTG Grow Tent and the ELF filter/fan combo

I have tried searching on this but the search function has not worked for me for around a week now. I've searched google as well but haven't found a lot info, so....

I currently have 5 plants vegging under a T5 in a cheap 4tier greenhouse. I'll be using a 250w HPS for flowering and I'm not happy with the greenhouses. Temps are an issue(I am growing some tomatoes, radishes, and lettuce under the HPS now), and it's extremely hard to make it lightproof. I covered the frames with panda film and then put the plastic back over it but I can't get a good seal and whatnot.

So.....I'm looking at the tents from HTG, see here: GROW TENTS FROM HTG
Now, I've heard about the hydro hut problems and I'm wondering how the HTG tents compare? Do they come with hardware to hang the carbon filter fan, etc? I emailed them but haven't heard anything back. Also, since all I currently have is a 250w the small(20" x 36" x 64"), sounds appealing. I'd like to eventually upgrade to another 250w and I assume that would be too much for the little tent. I wonder, if anyone here uses the medium size model(48" x 48" x 78.5"), could you hang two 250w lights in it? I wonder if one 250w would be ok in the medium tent(obviously I won't fill it up completely with only 250w)? How is the lightproofing on them? whatever tent I go with will be sitting in my room where there is ambient light - would this be a problem for flowering?

Second - I am looking at the filter/fan combos they have, see: FILTER/FAN COMBOS FROM HTG
Would I be able to use the 4" fan/elf filter combo on the medium(48" x 48" x 78.5"), grow tent or would I have to go with the 6" fan/filter combo? How well do these combo's work? If I have on of those combos venting out of the tent into my room, a 6" 250cfm inline fan( the cheap one on HTG), at the intake, and a clip on fan inside the greenhouse would this properly cool my setup? I have pretty constant indoor temps in the upper 60's to lower 70's most of the time. Also, I plan on flowering 3-10 plants at a time(depending on whether or not I get another 250w), will either of these fan/filter combos take care of the odor in one of these greenhouses?

I think that's it, sorry for the long post. I also apologize it it's been asked already but as I said the search isn't working.

Cheers!

I finally got a response to my question to HTG:

Hello

Thank you for your purchase.

Hydro Huts gaseous tent problem was exclusive to their brand alone. We
have sold hundreds of the type we carry, with no complaints regarding this
what so ever. Please feel confident with purchasing ours!

The tents have steel wire brackets on the top that you can hang the filter
and lamp(s) on.

Yes, you can us 2 250w systems in one of these with proper ventilation. I
would suggest using the Euro reflector, this model I believe is best
suited for lower wattage systems, 400w and below.

So, they say their tents have no problems though I still just don't know. I hear the venting setup on the HTG tents is only good for an air-cooled ballast. Nice to know I could add another 250w though. Anyone who has successfully used an HTG tent care to chime in?

Right now I am thinking of going with one of the filter/fan combos on HTG and a Secrect Jardin from BGH. What do y'all think about the 3.9x3.9x6.5 Darkroom and the 6" fan/filter combo from HTG?

Dude, I would buy the tent from HTGSupply, as I just got mine and got it up and running last night. They are really good tents. I have the "S" size one.

I am running a 400Watt CMH in mine with no issues.

I didn't like their fan/filter combo though.

So, I bought a real Vortex 6" fan and made a 6" X 30" carbon filter.

Just goto "Advanced Search" here and lookup "DIY Carbon", and choose to "Only Search Titles".

Hope that helps...It helped me ALLOT!!

Great, thank you! How is the setup in the HTG tents if you're not using an air-cooled light? I think I might get the medium HTG tent as I would like to add another 250w HPS at some point.

What was the issue(s) with their fan/filter combos?

EDIT: I decided to just pose this question to anyone who might be able to help:

I have about $600(maybe a bit more), total to spend right now and here's what I NEED:
- A grow tent of some sort. I currently have one 250hps and want to add another one. The less expensive the tent, the sooner I can get another 250hps. I also need to make sure the tent I get can hold both 250's.

- A carbon filter/fan. The combos from HTG looked really appealing at first, but maybe not? I live in an apt so this is key. What about the dutch breeze 11.5lb filter and 4" vortex fan from BGH? Would this adequately vent a 4'x4' grow tent?

- Some more soil. I currently use FFOF but ProMix is looking very appealing. I was thinking maybe the Promix BX + some bone and kelp meal?

Thanks!!

i also have the HTG, small, and love it. good thing is they are not PVC lined either. i use a 250CMH, have mesh ports at bottom of tent open and have 2 4" inlets also at bottom open, i cut an extra. on top i have 2 120cfm 37db axial fans. oscillating fan too on floor of tent. i have no air problems. i also have reflector hooked up to a duct to another axial but i dont use it since temp stays 70-78 without cooling reflector.
