HPS Won't turn on

Hey

I went to look at my plants today and my light wont go on? The bulb is only two months old and the ballast is a used 400w lumatex. Any suggestions on what to do?

its a digital, I plugged it into the wall by itself and its making a super small noise, I don;t know if I would consider it a hum though. I haven't remember hearing it hum at all since I've had it though.

loose wire

bad or busted bulb so the ballast won't turn on

those are the only causes that have pissed me off with digi's

check connections first and reset and see if that works. odds are it is the bulb, even if it is newer.

Is here a warranty on he ballast or bulb?

i've had problems with few pretty new bulbs...infact i bought one that new that didnt like to warm up, just that first fired up phase...then had several that didnt make even one grow...then i have one that wont fire up at all if switched off shortly after first fireing (i know they are not supposed to be turned on off all the time), like it needs time to rest (but thats like day or two)...so my point is bulbs are crazy, its always good to have spare ones...

cant speak about ballast cuz i always used analogs...

I'd bet the ballast went bad.
