Of course you can manually cut power in place of using a timer. Problem with that is if there is an emergency or you just plain space out and forget about them...then you are screwed. I had a time when I had to haul ass from where I was at to get back to them...CLOSE ONE!! Pick a light schedule (time on/time off), don't deviate from it and you will be fine.

dude youve got to have a timer.... if you start having 30 minute inconsistencies throughout your flower your plants are going to complain.... spend the 25 bucks and get a 15 amp timer, period.

I have grown for a lot of years and have never used a timer. Between my wife and I it has gotten as natural as anything else. We just choose a time when we know we are going to be home for on and off times. If you arent good with this I would suggest getting a timer.....

Seriously???

Seriously???

Dude, you're going to spend all this money on lights, seeds, etc, etc, and you're not sure if you should invest in a timer? I don't like to rip on people, so I'll just leave it at this: if you buy one, you won't regret it. If you don't, you might, so why risk it?
