The final out was you knocking him out, making him not able to run the bases, causing a forfeit?

If the bases were loaded and the pitcher hits the batter, the batter automatically get to go to first base, driving in the winning run.

If the batter steps into the ball on purpose, he will be called out on interference.

Imp, if the batter is hit and knocked out, his team can put in a substitute runner for him.

HeHe...... as bad as the game drug on in the second inning I would've loved to end it like that... but no.....

Score :4-2 home team losing

Bottom of 7/7 innings..... home team at bat...... double puts runner at second base.... sac fly moves runner to third... out #1..... routine ground ball kicked by second baseman gets the out at first base but runner from third advances and scores

Score: 4-3 home team still losing 2 outs

base hit.... runner on first...... next batter...... called ball (high) catcher kicks it around and allows runner from first to steal second.... 2 outs count is 1-0 runner in scoring position.... next pitch called strike count 1-1 ..... next pitch is fouled off..... count is 1-2...... next pitch hits the batter and the game is over... how can this be?????

Pops..... first situation could happen, but I said that the batter was called out.... in your second synopsis, that is not the correct call... if a batter leans into a pitch... he will be kept in the box and the pitch called as if the batter would not have been hit... ball if it was a ball, strike if it was a strike...... not out on interference

Batter must have stepped into the pitch or the ball hit both him and the bat.

If the ball hits both the bat and the player it will be ruled on what it hit first...... so if it hits the batter and he did not lean into it on purpose he gets aboard..... if it hits the bat and then the guys teeth it's just a foul ball......

Unless the catcher catches it as it comes off the batter, in which case he is out.

It started to pour rain and the game was called......or the picture gets the ball back after the hit batsman, steps on the rubber & with the ball now back in play he then picks a runner off a base. The only other thing I can think off is that after the batter is hit & starts to take first base, he steps on home plate when leaving the batter's box....that makes you out automatically.

How would you know, BH? 3.5 million years ago you guys were still kicking skulls around, not playing baseball.

I do like your idea about stepping on home plate!

Yeah, leaning into the strike zone & getting hit....it's strike three.........but that wasn't what happened, eh?

How would I know any of this? I was a slow-pitch softball pitcher for 9 years. It is pretty hard to hit a batter when your pitch goes slower than a bowling ball is thrown.

But, you see I'm still here, hehehe.

remember the count is 1-2 (1 ball 2 strikes) 2 outs home team down by 1 run... runner in scoring position at second base, the next pitch hits the batter, and the batter is called out......

Pops..... if the ball ever hits the batter first before it hits anyone or any equipment the ball is immediately dead and anything post is null....... if the ball were to hit off the bat and back to the catcher....... then it is a caught foul tip..... if there are two strikes the batter is out.... this is not the case........

good theories really...... keep trying......

you are correct on your ruling....

not the case here........ this guy was timid.... I bet his butt clenched and puckered when he knew he was eating this one....... only to find out he'd been called out...... I can't believe I didn't get more of an argument......... surprising what some coaches will argue, then let something like this go and say nothing.......

Well, I played a crap load of organized baseball in my youth & I've run out of ideas on this one.
He didn't swing and miss & also get beaned did he? Or did we cover that?
Hey Pops, must be some new rule after our athletic days were over.
