How's the scene in NY, NY?

So I'll be spending 6 days up in NY for New Years, and damn I'm probably going to need some smoke...

Shipping it up there is out of the question, and I heard central park is a rip off. The delivery services are ok, but I can't have anyone showing up at the place I'll be staying... Any other ideas about sources or how much I might need for a good 1/4 would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely some good shit in NY,NY... as to where to get some... dude you can probably just ask around, if you're in NYC then i think regardless your going to get ripped. It took a while before i was able to find some good connections but then again some people just have that luck. I'm going to say 100 to 125 for a quarter... if you go with the delivery services you might be able to meet up with them somewhere besides the place your staying but it'll be pricey I'm sure, personally i've never dealt with them. Sorry for not being the greatest, the weed scene is there but it's more underground i'd say as opposed to cali.

Bring your own...Wear a pair of tightie whities...have no metal on your person what so ever...double vacuum seal your nugs and stash em in your tightie whities...do it every time i fly from SF or Oakland to JFK and never had a problem...i mean seriously even if you got caught which i highly doubt you would it's obviously for personal use and not like your smuggling pounds

Yeah, I have a friend that goes to NYU so I go up there all the time and it is so overpriced. There are a lot of delivery services, but it is VERY VERY overpriced. Theres some decent stuff, but expect to pay an arm and a leg.

If you're green to copping smoke on the street then stay away from Bryant Pk. (actually 40th St. about 100 feet west of 5th Av. 'perfect spot') and Washington Square Pk. which is at the base of 5th Ave, south on 5th until ya see this in front of ya.......

Washington Sq Pk is a small park just walk through the arch and straight in about 200-300 feet....... but hey!!! I've said enough. If you're green stay away from that scene.
Otherwise if you don't look and act like a tourist you won't get taken for one, wanna be slick? turn down the first thing you're approached with and watch something 'greener/sweeter' smelling appear, that's the usual routine in Wash Sq Pk unless they know you. I always had a NYC & Bronx street connect available if my other guy was out.

Stoner4Life-Gives good info- it all depends on #1 how green you are to street deals and also #2 how you look because on the streets perception is reality if you catch my drift. The places that he spoke of are actually perfect for a tourist because you can blend in with all ethnicity's in these places. Best place to go if you are either of very savvy street Anglo-saxon/white persuasion, spanish, or black you can head uptown to Harlem to catch some pif anywhere from 135th st all the way up through the Bronx and from river to river, everyone walking around has access to uptown Haze/Pif or some good sour d trust me it is around there like it is legal but you have to know your bud because their are alot of switcharoos and scams but the serious herb is their good luck bro

now to be honest philypride and stoner4life are right. you can get it, but NY is not the place to be f--kin around in. you can get jacked by the guys dealing and then get busted by teh cops in a sweep all in the same 5 minutes it would take you to just ask the question of where what is. dont get me wrong, i am not saying that NY has the meanest streets or anything, but you do have to be savvy, ESPECIALLY IN MANHATTAN!!! the bronx, harlem and other places you can tell (if your good anyway) when things dont feel right, but in manhattan, things can go wrong faster than you can fart,and im serious about that.

if you got the chops and want to jump in then go for it, believe it or not, we are some really cool folks, even about our cannabis, but if you dont wanna risk it then just (and someone else suggested it) bring your own, o really try to connect with someone here in NY that you know.

i just believe in safety being paramount, but at the same time, whatever you buy you must smell it, look at it and basically give it a Q.C. inspection, since people will try to jack you. be safe bruh, and if you can , have someone go with you as an extra pair of eyes.

yea but in nyc i remember 1/8ths not being 8ths at all...they were 2.5 grams at 60$ this was before 9/11 i would definitely think prices have gone up. Theres what they call "dro" and then you got "bags" like dime bags, twenty bags etc...these are usually crap filled dirt weed....sometimes sprayed with chemicals....shit i owuldnt sell to my worst enemy....

If you have the balls you could hit up the "spots" in bklyn or the bronx..but its suicide if you dont know the streets, but at these 'spots' youll find really shitty weed most of the time and lots of crack heads...so probably not your best bet . When i lived in nyc in my teens in the early/late 90's there was incredible 'sour diesel' smelling buds...very skunky usually called 'kind bud' which was around all the time....seeded uncompressed delicious ness! good luck...i hope you find something..but also dont be put off from putting some in a sealed bag in your underwear...the TSA is a joke anyways....

last time I hit NYC I got these two deals on weed.......
I got a 1/4 of Super Silver Haze for $160-pure cerebral haze high, the kind of buzz that makes me wanna get out and party, bars w/ live music etc....... & I was gifted 20 SSH X Afghani Hash Plant beans from that connect.
I got an ounce of Bronx street green for $120-no seeds, all bud w/o any shade leaf shake. This was from one of my street connects and is exactly what's sold in dime & twenty bags. The stone was clearly a sativa/indica mix with effects on the body and mind. Best bang for the buck!

If I were living in NY again I'd surely go with the $120 ounce for my regular stone and the $160 1/4 for the occasional treat give or take my own grows.

try 150th and up off broadway.
if you never been to the "hood" and feel you can't handle it, steer clear.
if you have street smarts, you'll find something.
do yourself a favor and go during daylight.
its a little more busy during the day and wont look as suspicious.
less cops too.
watch out for the flatfoots, aka cops on foot.
check bodegas and hope you dont look like a cop.
alot of peeps get nervous and wont seel to most people.
remember, if you get pinched and locked up during the weekend, you dont get out til monday morning.
if i had a nickel for all the weekends i spent in holding cells........

You have received alot of good info on this thread bro, but remember it may be very hard to find 1/8ths or 1/4 in Manhattan or anywhere else in the city it is more like $10-$20-$50 and then it jumps to Oz's with no in between unless you know someone and the delivery services are not as easy to find as you may think unless you know people. I really cant disagree with too much of the info you have received here. The best places I to score reg/mid is prob like stoner4life said Washington Square park is an easy score but I dont know about them having Primo. Cocktail Frank gave you the best info for Primo Haze or Super Sour D Broadway Ave from 135th in Harlem all the way up through Grand Concourse in the Bronx Everybody is two yells away from some primo haze everything from $10 to $500 ozs but remember safety first and try to look as scruffy/tough/hood as possible! good luck bro
