How when & why flush?

high bro! basicly you only feed water to your plants 10+ days before you harvest, so that you "flush" out built up salts, and "force" the plant to use up stored nutrients in it's tissue. if you do it right, your plant will be pretty yellowed up before harvest, BUT therein lies the road to smooth smoke (in my opinion). hope this helped, blessss!

No, when you are already in the flowering stage, example if your plants have 60 days flowering time then you start feeding water at 48-50 days.

I got a question along these lines, I'm in week 13(some haze bagseed). I feed/water/water in 3 week cycles and the feeding cycle that starts week 13 is tonight. Trichomes are about 20% clear/79% cloudy with a rare amber here and there. Should I feed one last time, or should I start flushing(they've already had water the last 2 weeks, should I keep watering only?)

How long is the stage from here to 25% amber on a time-scale?
I'm all prepared to mix up a feeding for them, but figured i'd check here to see if I might end up harvesting too late after I do if I need to allot a flushing period before then.

I have no clue on how to flush properly.. Nor do I know when or why .. Any help would be appreciated!

Besides flushing out the nuts 2 weeks before harvest you may want to flush or do semi-flushes long before harvest – this might be a must if you are growing a Sativa that flowers for 3 months or more

I’ve seen Franco from Greenhouse in grow videos saying they flush once a week!!!
He also explained that they check the EC of the runoff water to know what's going on...

So, here's what I do-
Once a week I irrigate with pure water (0 EC) and then check the EC level of the runoff water.
When it gets above 3.4 EC (usually it take 2-4 weeks ) I flush.
I start flushing with about 1.5-2 gallons of water to a 3 gallons pot
- wait for all the water to drain out dry (~1 h)
- water again and collect the first drops of the runoff.
- check the EC
- if it's still too high flush again
I usually I do it in once run stop when I get a reading of 1.4 or below

Hope it helps
Greetings :tiphat:

Stop feeding might make them finish faster - check out https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?p=1209877#post1209877

The proper way to flush depends on what medium you're using.
For example; In soil you're supposed to flush with up to 5X the volume of your pot. 5 gal potX5 gals water=25 gal. THEN you feed with plain water (whenever the soil dries out) from then on until harvest.
I treat my coco the same way.
In hydro you can switch to plain water.

What is your medium/style?
What is your strain/ind/sat...length?
What is your nute regiment...salt/organic/other?
PPM/pH ranges?
Temps/ airflow?

Too Little Info!

You will get plenty of rules of thumb...
But flushing is like flushing a toilette.

"If it is yellow let it mellow,
brown, flush it down."
