i was just curious bout the different ways peeps root their cuttings.there are so many ways........ myself , i used to root in soil in 8oz. clear cups & had ok success but now i have a home built 1 gal. aero-cloner w/2 5"airstones , i fill the water line almost to the top and let the pump run 24/7. i usually have roots in about 10 days with a 95-100% success rate. this unit will do 15 cuttings and after they are all rooted i pick the six best ,change the lid on my areo-cloner and "viola" it's also my early veg system with 6 3inch netcups , from these six i take the best four to flower...........come everybody tell us how you do it

Take em of the plant
Strip em down
Cut the base to an acute angle
score 3 or 4 rings around the stem with scissors
hold them in a predug hole and fill loosely
water them so the soil fills in nice and tight around the stem.
give them weak but constant light.
If they're alive in 3 days they probably will be in 3 weeks.

GMT: I have heard of abrading the stalk a bit, but never the scissor made rings around the stalk. Sounds interesting. Do you find more rooting sites at the rings?

issack: I just picked up one of those 60 site ez-clones. They are much like the DIY aero's except they use air stones and misters. They are expensive but worth it if you want to plug and play. I have great water (nice and soft), so I should be able to just use water and go.

Yeah I tend to snip the base ito legs which tend to form a couple of roots each and the rings sem to pour roots in all directions. Dont cut too deeply though, just enoigh to rmove the outer layer.

Tried plain water in cups, willow tea in cups, root hormone - the only consistently working method has been the DIY bubble cloner:

I've been doing the same thing...working great for me..

I've tried all the water in a cup ideas and they seemed to never work for me. I just ordered clonex and rockwool cubes a few days ago so i'll be taking some cuttings before my outside girls go into fall. I'll let ya'll know how they turn out. Thanks.......Herb

Just dip the cutting in honey instead of rooting gel or powder or whatever. It seals the cut and preserves the tender cut while waiting for roots to grow. Also im sure there are plenty of other beneficial things in honey . Raw honey would be preferred.

Cool Babba! I'll try that in a few days!! Thanx!
I know honey has anti microbial properties as well as being organic!

aero-cloners rule!! i'm always doing 95-100% and mine cost about 12 dollars to make.. hey issack, im just wondering how long it takes for your EZ- cloner (or any other production cloning device ftm) to start showing roots. i usually show roots in 8-10 days.. oh yeah btw, the honey thing, im gonna give that a shot just as an experiment to check it out cuz the quicker the better
