How to vacuum a AC unit properly?

Looking for a HVAC pro which i know there is alot on here that could give a step by step process on vacuuming a pre charged ac unit?
from whats the best gauges to use to the best vacuum for a excellent performing ac unit?
Really need help here!

i would also love to know. I have the guages and vacuum pump but no idea how to use. I have a brand new bottle of r22 too! lol

I just had the lines vacuumed on my mini split, cost me $100. They'll charge more if they have to add freon.
The pump can be bought at Harbor Freight, I believe.
Go to ehow and type in "Vacuuming home air conditioner lines".

can you buy nitrogen without hvac license? i know you can by the refrigerant and manifold and pump with out one?

I don't know about buying Nitrogen but the guy who did my ac didnt use anything.
He hooked up the pump, and gauges, opened a valve on the unit and let the pump run for 15 minutes. When he was done, he looked at the gauge and it showed the unit to be perfectly full of freon (r410), disconnected everything, and then we plugged the unit in and it blows ice cold.
Man I wish I could help you more. I scratched my head for 2 months before I decided to just call an ac tech. My grow room was completely empty, just 4 walls, so I just told the guy I am an amateur photographer and was building a dark room.
