Go to User Menu > Manage Photos
Then select another category in the list apart from 'Member Galleries', let it load, and then re-select 'Member Galleries'. Your gallery will load as a sort page, and you can multiple-select images and then 'Submit Changes' to remove them all in one go.
One caveat - the images are sorted alphabetically by image name - as in the image you gave it when uploaded. Which is a pain for me, as I'd rather delete by date, and that option isn't available. If it were available, I would be a very happy bunny...
