How to reach my yield? Hashberry/Cabinet/400WCFL

I have a 4'x2'x8' closet. I want to put a cabinet in there and the cab is basically 39"x23"x79". I was thinking of putting 10x42 watt cfls +420W Eventually I will go 430w HID but not for now. Spending the bulk of my remaining money on carbon filter and fan. I'll make it pretty and better after.

The strain is hashberry. Haven't decided on nutes or any of that stuff yet.
I just want to know the easiest way to get 8oz every 90 days.

Scrog, Sog? Just 8-9 larger plants.? I know there are a ton of variables just just need a start in which direction is the easiest route.

My thought was 8 plants in 2 gallon containers and flower at 10 inches for a 30 something final height. Figure if I'm lucky I get 1 ounce per plant then I'm set. But if a 2 plant scrog will do the same thing then you tell me.....

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks for the tip! I looked at his grow and got some great info from it.

So looks like he said he was getting about 10 or so grams per plant out of just under a gallon size pot.

Would it be too wild of an assumption to think I could get closer to 28 grams per plant if I go up to a 2 gal container and of course vegged a little longer? Or not since the CFL's aren't going to penetrate very far?

well his more recent plants I think he was getting more than that.

Your best bet in a cab with cfls, is to even the canopy, so try a scrog or lst, that will keep budsites all within light penetration zone. Hard to say on your yield, but I would say 28 grams is attainable

I think 8 oz of dried / manicured herb is pretty optimistic for even a 430w hid.
I don't claim to be a great grower or anything but I'm lucky to hit 8 oz of "grade A" herb using a 600w hps with some supplemental CFL. Not trying to bum ya out...just trying to keep your expectations realistic. Also...keep in mind, your lumen per watt is usually better with the bigger lights.

High Density SOG is the only way to go if you want high yields off of CFLs. 8oz is very doable but not easy for a novice. Not sure if you care about plant count but since you have a lot of height, i would make 2 flower chambers with 5 42w each and fill each space with clones. flower the clones at about 4-6" which would put them under 20" after stretch. of course this would require a veg chamber as well. were you just planning on seed to bud in the same cab or separate veg area?

Not bummed out at all...... that's exactly the kind of thing I need to know. I don't need 8 oz but I would really like more so a friend of ours can continue to think I get it from someone else but I can get him weed at a huge discount then.... help out my friend and make some money to pay for nutes and lights etc.

I was looking at Drbudgreengenes so I've explored that option.... I cut all his yield numbers in half because I have no where near that experience and was trying to figure out plant counts that way. Just seems a ton more work to water and care for 20 small plants..... but with CFL's that seems to be the only way to go.I haven't bought my cabinet yet so I can get a shorter cab but i think I'll go with the taller one for when I get and HPS.


I'm not a novice with plants though, I have one of the most intensive gardens/yards in the area and put in 2 hours a day and 6-8 every weekend. I grew a bagseed once and turned into a mother plant and successfully took 8 clones but had to get rid of it all because we moved to a smaller house etc..... now im ready to go at it again.
