How to make your own bio-diesel

This is a great video from the dude who hosts TRUCKS on Speed TV that shows you how to make your own bio-diesel http://making-biodiesel.org/

He uses one of these:
FuelMeister II

Personal Biodiesel Production System
CARS / TRUCKS / GENERATORS / TRACTORS / FURNACES
With a FuelMeister II you don't have to be a plumber or mechanic to make your own biodiesel. This is not a hobby kit but an easy to assemble and tested system built with quality materials. You get all the specialized equipment and accessories you need to start making biodiesel that same day. All you need to add is vegetable oil, methanol, lye, electricity and tap water. The whole setup fits comfortably in the corner of your garage. And because it's a "closed" system you won't have to pour or stir any liquids. A digital scale is included so you can accurately measure your own lye. The FuelMeister will turn even heavily used cooking oil into clean burning, biodegradable and smooth-running biodiesel. Whatever you own that runs on #2 diesel fuel you can power with the biodiesel you produce with your own FuelMeister II processor system.

"The FuelMeister from Renewal Fuels is by far the fastest, easiest and safest way for individuals to start making their own high quality biodiesel." Joshua Tickell, Author "From the Fryer to the Fuel Tank"

NOKUY...interesting about the fish oil have to check into that...it's my understanding though that if use the formula in the video and do a couple water washes to clean the bio-diesel(don't have to) you can use the bio-diesel in the geny or car/truck without having to convert anything

RED145...yeah it's a little pricey but i'm thinking it will pay for itself in a heartbeat

peace and be safe

you can build one of these for a few hundred dollar using an electric water heater...

but as advancement now allow you to run pure vegtable oil in your vehicle WITHOUT the need to install the second tank and flow controls...

i dont see brewing my own fuel as any sort of advancement anylonger....

my boss turns the oil from our fryers into fuel, it's pretty rad. I watched him start it one time.

and THAT is whats occured!!!

for several years it was understood that you could approach managers of local fry food establishments and arrange a deal... they were paying a bill every month to have the used stuffed hauled off and suddenly some weirdo says he will take it for free...

well...

turns out managers dont get paid well anyway... so they have now LEARNED the deal and are they themselves UNDERSTANDING the value and becoming the adopters of this fuel source themselves...

but hey...
its still cheaper walking into the grocery and cleaning em out on gallons of veggie oil than pulling into the station on the corner...

:)
