How to know if bud has gone "BAD"?

I have some herb that seems to be going bad, although I am unsure.

Seems it happens a lot around this time of year, and I'm not sure why, but some bud that "goes around" is a tan shade or almost gold looking, especially in the inside. It also seems to ruin the original smell.. it almost smells like some kinds of wood, very dull, not fruity or skunky, etc.

Now this may just all be in my head, but I also think it affects my throats/lungs in a different, more harmful way.

Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about, or is this just the way some cannabis is?

how long have you had it.. i think the only thing that can really make bud go bad is mold.. if its not moldy then smoke away. it might be a little drier and harsher, but throw in a piece of an apple or an orange rind, it'll freshen it up after a day or two.

I've seen some bud like that. Looked like "albino" weed or something. More plant-like than bud like. I just bought a bunch of meds so thankfully I'm not experiencing that problem

we get shit like that this time of year....its last years low ends from outdoors. They dry it then pack it away till dry season when they can get rid of things they normally couldnt. its good to smoke...just not GOOD lol

What Northern Greens said. Bud really only "goes bad" when it gets moldy, and this almost always happens when the bud is stored in a container before it has dried properly. It usually will smell like ammonia, if it's bad. If the stuff you're talking about is what I'm thinking of, then NG is right on. Gold, dried, very few big nuggets, and a bit harsh on the throat. Stonier, too, prolly because the THC has degraded to CBD.

Not really sure, but if you mail me all the bud in question I'll smoke it and let you know if it was bad.
