Found this in search because I've been thinking about it since I've been active again. However I seem to remember doing this years ago and it being somewhat of a hassle finding good proxies.

There are plenty of free anonymous proxies on the Net. However, it would be a mistake to rely on any of these for any level of security or privacy. The reason is that it's usually impossible to know if a given free proxy is trustworthy or not.

Many free proxies are set up by spammers, phishers, and even surveillance agencies to try to steal user login data or profile your actions as you surf through the proxy.

In addition, many free proxies, while not run by malicious operators, may not be very secure, which can again lead to your potentially very sensitive data falling into the wrong hands.

I was driving today and thought about asking this very question. I want to cruise safely on the information superhighway. Cheers! :woohoo:

How about just using TOR ? 3 linked proxies so that either end is isolated from the other end buy the proxy in the middle. Of course you should also be using FF3 with Noscript, as a nicely put together web page could use java to side step the whole proxy system and get you to give up your IP without realizing it.

TOR is great if you don't live in the states.
Too many compromised Fed machines are running tor to monitor traffic in and out.
When you have it up and running, try to select IP's from different national locations to connect to. So that way at least you have one barrier in front of you.
