How to clone soil plants?

Hey everyone! I'm getting ready to do my outdoor grow. I definately don't want to deal with any males like I have been doing with my hydro grow. It sucks. I am going to grow some durban poision from seed indoors originally, let them get a good size and then move them outdoors. I am going to take several clones and flower them so I can be sure I get all females. How do I go about cloning in soil? Thanks guys.

same way you would with hydro. in fact, i use rockwool cubes and transplant into soil when needed. just make sure you let that rockwool dry out thoroughly every time you water or you'll rot the hell out of it. you could also just use a planting mix, or clone in perlite vermiculite mix and rinse most of it off after roots have grown before xplanting into soil. i'm relatively certain you could even just take a small cup of soil, drench it, make hole with chopstick, insert plant. keep moist and warm. use dip n grow.

peace

let me add something to that. if you use cheap potting soil, non sterile, there is a good chance you'll get fungus/algae/mold/bugs in the time it takes to clone (if you keep your clones humid which you should be) so if you dont have a high class potting soil, wet it thoroughly and bake the shit out of it to sterilize it.

Hey all:: As said you can go straight from Cloning horm./gel to soil. I prefer to use a jiffy puck, which I set in a 3 1/2" pot

You can see them in middle of pots.(seedlings)
(clones)
I use this method for seedlings and clones,I like how pucks dry up quick, keeps new roots from getting fungi, algae, or what not. Just my way :joint:

I've cloned in rockwool, peat pots, fleximix and straight into MPC I actually found rockwool the hardest, fleximix the quickest (95% success rate as well), peat pots were pretty good (90% success) and the one in MPC (Levington's) came through it was hard to tell how long it took to root as I used a 12cm square pot so the roots had much further to grow before I could see 'em but I took it out of the prop after 7 days and within another 7 days I saw roots at the base of the pot.

My method (I'm a newbie never cloned a thing until 4 weeks ago that's why I tried so many mediums) was to
1. Expand the jiffy7's (They're little round compressed discs, you drop them in water for 15 minutes and they expand. Shake the excess water off (Don't squeeze them as most people recommend, I find if you have cheap jiffy's it splits the nets around them and they come apart a bit, clones were still fine though.)

2. Squirt some gel4plugs into the holes in the jiffy's if you can get it or just dip into rooting powder/hormone and place into jiffy.

3. Pop into a propagator and kept temperature at around 75f (24C)

4. Mist every day, put a cup of water into the prop as well.

5. Twiddle me thumbs while I wait.

I used a few of 6400k 20w CFL's for 5 sqrft think it worked out roughly 20w a ft.

Temps are the most important thing in cloning.

This one took 9 days, it was my first, they started coming thick and fast after that, I added a few more batches over time and for 3 weeks I was getting new rooted clones in allsorts of different mediums, my temps were low which is why they took a long time.

I'm a week into my first cloning experience. I took 2 from a bagseed twice topped about a month and a half old.

I picked up some gel called "roots" at canadian tire for like $5. Anybody heard of it? It's been a week and they haven't grown or wilted significantly. I planted the cuttings in dirt with lots of vermiculite with the planting hole filled with vermiculite and no soil. I've been keeping the soil moist and loosly covering the pots with a plastic bag.

Everything i've seen on the internet and elsewhere has been expensive, this stuff was dirt cheap, i picked up some powder too cause it was only $2 and i'm gonna get ferts there because they're so cheap too. Canadian tire, actually decent in that department.

Can anybody tell me anything about "roots" cloning gel?
