How to clean spores off clones properly?

I was a bit stupid and left 60 clones sitting in a tent rooting for weeks with no fans or extraction at all. They developed white/grey mould spots an every bit of dead or dying plant matter that was attached to the clones or on the surface of the coco.
I've now got rid of the most infected ones and have cleaned up the others pretty well. Some were not affected at all because they were so healthy.

I've heard of people using a diluted vinegar solution to spray their plants to get rid of pm and mould. Something about the acidity they can't stand.

I want to spray the shit out of my plants just to make sure it doesn't come back. Only I don't know how to use it.

I have some apple cider vinegar...is that ok to use? What concentration do I apply it? Or do I just ph my water to about 4 or something with the vinegar then use that?

My tap water ph is around 7.5-8. I don't know if that matters at all.

Also, I assume I'd have to spray them with pure water a few minutes after to wash the vinegar off right? Or do I just leave it on the plants?

It is high pH, not low, that kills pm. Spray your plants with plain tap water and see what happens, it might be high enough. If the pm doesn't come off with your tap water, up the pH to about nine. I would dip the entire plant in the water just to make sure you cover all of it. Nothing will kill the pm spores, so repeat the water dip/spray process every few days for a couple of weeks so that you have completely disrupted the pm's life cycle.

There's a powdery mildew thread here in the infirmary. It would be a good idea to read it.

It's not actually powdery mildew. It's full on mould fluff that was attacking my plants.
The dead leaf stalks and bits of browning leaf were fuzzy with mould....I could see the spores falling off when I chopped the infected bits away.

Does your advice still apply in my situation?

Ohhhh - That kind of mold. Been there; done that. LOL It's kind of like a merit badge for procrastination.

Toss/trim all the bad stuff (sounds like you already have), then mix up a mild solution of bleach and water and wash the pots, dome, whatever is in the immediate vicinity of the mold real well. You can also dip the plants in a real mild bleach solution and then rinse them with tap water. That gray stuff is ugly and messy, but it's pretty easy to get rid of.

Thanks a million Pharmacan!
Yep, this could easily have been prevented by simply connecting my extractor fan to the tent....but I thought they'd be ok. Oh well, live and learn :bat:

What concentration would you suggest for dipping the plants? I don't want to fry them with bleach in the process lol.

And should I spray with plain water afterwards to wash the bleach off before it dries on my plants, or won't it matter in that strength concentration?

Thanks for the help by the way man. I appreciate it. :joint:

Damn, Gangabiss, I only did it once and never really measured. I'd say about 1/2 ounce in five gallons of water. Then wash them off with tap water. If you are on a municipal water supply, there is probably a small amount of chlorine in the water and that's about as much as you want to dry on the plants.

Thanks Pharmacan.

I will do the deed tonight when I scrub the tent out.

I'll make sure they are dry before letting them sleep though...don't want a repeat occurrence now do we lol.
