How to bring down the PH after overwatering?

So it seems that I've run into an overwatering issue in my coco grow (damn my luck) and was wondering what the best way to bring the PH of the coco back down was?????
Been flushing for a while now and can't get the PH below 6.8.
I'm in week 5 of flower and woke up to a wilted plant with PH issues started flushing with RO water and got a PH reading of 7, and PPMS over 1100.
I'm using Jacks 5-12-26/calnit and not feeding over 750ppm.
Pulled the pot off and found nice brown smelly roots no slime though not sure if that makes a difference?
Flushing got the PPMS under control but I can't get the PH below 6.8 and I'm flushing with RO water PH'ed at 5.5.
I'm hand watering in 1 gallon pots.
Is there anything else I can do before I start letting the pot dry out is this girl salvageable?
I have 3 more on the go not showing any signs of stress but in different stages of flower.
Thanks in advance for any help!!!!!

Sincerely EL RO:tiphat:

Add your salts to help flush. can do a lower ec. generally you use what you want to bring it down too. ph accordingly. I just mix everything like normal and do like 4x what you normally water in. I would flush with 1.2 (600ppm) ec ph 6.0 and then let them start getting dryer. I wouldn't let them get bone dry. Check out the cooks explanation on the exchange of compounds in coco, in the coco thread.

Hello fellow Canadian . You can overwater in coco . i learned this from watering daily. You must have the proper root mass established to pot size then you can water away with no problems . In early veg it helps to water by the weight of the pot and wet and dry cycles in between while the roots establish . If you have root rot it will spread . Hope this helps

When I overwatered a while back I set the pot on a seedling heat mat, the theory being that it would evaporate the excess a bit faster. There was nothing to compare it to but it seemed to work.

Time to get drastic and pronto. Use 3-4 oz/gal of peroxide 3%, water to like 30-50% runoff. Check weight of pot w/medium by lifting, allow to get fairly dry, not wilted, pot a lot lighter. Then you can start nutes and root stimulator with the peroxide. Allow to dry well after each watering. Use Peroxide for 3 waterings, then, next watering, inoculate with Great White or similar or topdress with 1/2" of good EWC just before watering. Make and apply a good ACT with good compost and EWC to inoculate the brew. Good luck. -granger

What are you using to test your PH? I hope its not one of those garden prong maters, those things are not accurate at all. It could give you a reading of 7 an it could actually be 4.

I don't know how your watering with 5.5 and the runoff is still 7. I just noticed my plants were not growing anymore and my runoff in my coco was 7 and did 5.5 to reset the coco ph and it worked, the runoff started coming out as 6. I use GH PH test drops to test my water and runoff ph. It shows different colors in a vial for certain ph.

I heard if you have root rot your runoff will become acidic not alkaline.

First and foremost is to read the stickied threads in the coir subforum.

Glows website (manixbotanix) also has a good run down.

Then realize all the soil theory you're using is counter productive.

Get a fan pointing on the surface of your pots man, help evaporate that water a little. I thought each time you water in coco it drops the ph down a little each time. I read sawdust is awesome to bring the ph down. Here is a link for you to read up on a little further if interested, http://www.kindgreenbuds.com/marijuana-grow-guide/raising-or-lowering-the-ph-in-the-soil-mix/
get that soil dried out asap mate. Then careful with the watering.

LMAO geez a fan never thought of that:)thanks brother!!

I don't know how either?
