How suspicious are ph/tds meters?

G

Guest

i usually rent a car to go to the hydro store when buying equipment. i was wondering if i should be as paranoid when buying a meter. do you think these ph/tds meters are just as incriminating as hid lights and soil? what about r/o water filters?

i dont think r/o filters are at all suspicious, lots of people use this for better tasting drinking water in their house (i do)

if you go to the hydro store when buying equipment dont be paranoid about grabbing a tds meter... or anything for that matter

people dont only use these tools / stores to grow ganj :)

just keep to yourself about what you're doing

A lot of people use TDS/pH meters for their pool, aquarium, or drinking water. I wouldn't be to worried. If they are watching you that closely, then i think you're already fucked

Talk about suspicious behavior, pulling up in a rental car to a grow shop would make some serious bells go off for me if I was a cop. Most rental cars have specific plate numbers, like in some places the plate on a rental car always starts with Z get what I'm saying?

If you were being watched enough for them to want to know who you are renting a car isn't going to stop them. Especially if they run the cars plates and they come back as a rental, that's going to get their attention. :badday:

there gonna think "Damn this guy must be a serious commercial grower, he has enough cash to rent a car for grow store trips"

taking a rental car is more retarded then taking your own car, it takes no effort at all to find out who was renting the car on that particular day, at that particular hour. at least if its your own car you can say you lent it to a friend.

Wow..... Tha't'd be an expensive trip to the store each time..... If you're that paranoid why not just use public transit or a cab?

Or try parking in a store next door. Its good to be safe, but sometimes people get a little to paranoid....

or quit being paranoid and every time you go in the grow store talk about the vegetables your growing...if they are watching its for people uncomfortable and in a hurry....and renting cars to make trips to the hydro store....only you know you grow grass...unless you continue to act like an ass

Send a money order if there is nothing that identifies that money order to you. Like everyone says PH meters are used by lots of people for things like drinking water Expecially if you have a health condition that warrants it, digestion or skin.

I think Britta sell a PH Meter which is a main stream company and would not look out of place in your home.

No one has mentioned a Safe Addy so I assume everyones assuming you don't have access to a safe location for things to get posted to you. But if you can work a Safe Addy somewhere definately the way to go.

I think you're being (unnecessarily) obsessively paranoid about nothing, throughout this whole thread. RO systems are used in many homes and businesses, including ones whose occupants think "marijuana" are little white sticks that grow on plants that "drugees" smoke.

Don't use rental cars to go to hydro shops, don't bother making a money order for a RO filter, etc. Quit acting so abnormal and out of place. If anything, your suspicious behavior from being so overly paranoid is what's going to get you busted.

What's next, wearing a Halloween mask of a dead president while shopping at the hydro store?

I beg to differ guys - his concerns are legitimate about visiting a local shop.

Case in point: I stopped into the only local shop we had a couple of years ago to grab everything I needed the first time out the door. Paid in cash. No biggie. However, I just recently read about the owner going to prison for growing in a local paper. Turns out that LEO had been taking photos of everyone who went in and out of that store. I was one of them going in and out of that store. Whether I was photpgraphed or not, I do not know. Luckily it was a couple of years ago. The owner stated in an interview within the article that LEO had a "yearbook" of all visitors and wanted him to turn on a few of them to get a reduced sentance (yeah, right). Fortunately the owner was wise to their shit and decided to take the full sentence out of personal dignity and the fact that his family was going to be left behind while he did time and he did not want to "endanger" them by ratting people out.

I'll agree that the rental car is a little much - you'd be safer taking the bus. However, I understand his fear, even over a PH meter.

For those looking for an outlet for PH meters and PH up/down, learn to make beer at home. All the major homebrew suppliers carry meters and some useful chems. You can order from them without any worries. Plus you get to drink damn good beer for a tenth of the cost of the major swills out there.

Well said, I couldn't agree more. Driving a rental car up to a hydro store screams "investigate me because I obviously have something to hide".

Secondly, driving a rental car doesn't protect you against a camera.

I personally like the internet, far more anonymous.

I don't understand why you guys think pH, or even TDS, meters are all that exclusive in use. pH meters can be had from many different types of outlets, including many that have nothing to do with growing any sort of vegetation whatsoever.

Think hard about the weakest chain in your link, and I'll bet that it has nothing to do with where you got your meters.
