how sensitive is the plants from external light?

one friend of mine have a small grow and have a question.
because reasons he want to have the bloom cycle so that the lights is on during the night, and the light is off during the day.
how sensitive is the plant to external lights? we talking maybe 5 minutes once a week, during watering.

Tell your "friend" to water when the lights are on at night.
