How Secure is HTGsupply?

I made a big no no and ordered 2 x 600w hps lamps and a t5 from htgsupply with my cc and had it sent to my growhouse. I read a book on growning, ordered the equip, and did all this before discovering these forums, now that i've been reading the info here i know ive made a big mistake. Should I be worried? I was jogging this morning around 9:45am and came around the corner to see a car sitting across the street from my house with a man just sitting there looking directly at my house. I live in an area where this is uncommon, semi upperclass neighborhood, everyone is real familiar, and this guy stuck out like a sore thumb. I ran by him to get a good look, and he was clean cut, about 40 with a mustache. Car wasn't too nice 96 civic i think, and it had out of state plates (don't know if that means anything) . I don't have any hids running yet, have about 12 seedlings under a t5 setup, they are about an inch tall atm. should i be worried at all? Maybe i am being paranoid, but getting busted would be very bad for me.

I called my cc company and asked if they sell my statements and immediately with no hesitation the lady said "yes, we share you information with both affiliates and non affiliates" ?? That kind of means they give your information to everyone who wants it.... I read somewhere about the dea buying cc statements and analyzing them for purchases, and then giving the info to local pd to investigate... is this true and if so should i just lay off growing for a little while?

Is 2 600watters and a t5 a blip in the dea's radar?

What does your cc show as the name paid? Showing your cc information is a far cry from showing what you purchased.

This is kind of a judgment call. I don't think the person in the car was a cop. They don't tend to just stand out. If it were me I would feel better not ordering to my residence but unless the shop gve your name directly to the police I don't see you getting watched. The lights alone are not grounds for a warrant. Make sure not to do anything that would be......

I just called the company and they said they do not share information and the box is just a plain white or brown. There prices are also ungodly reasonable......

Well, I haven't heard of any busts stemming from an order made online. They may bust someone and also find out he ordered stuff online but usually not from the purchase alone.

I think we would be hearing about some bust stories from people on message boards. If you get a chance to talk to someone who runs an online shop you would find that a huge portion of people pay with credit card. A lot of people talk the talk about security but I hear in the end people end up ordering with their credit card.

I think we would hear about some of these busts at least a few stemming from online activity if its really happening.

HTG is legit, I bought my 400w and carbon scrubbers from them.... I think with credit card. The guy is really cool and will replace stuff if it gets messed up in shipping.

You bought legal items so there is NO WAY for the police to get a warrant based on that info alone. Keep your trash clean, your personal life in check, your mouth shut, and your fine.

I've ordered from them at least three times in the past and I've never had a problem. Their prices on most items are great but I wish they stocked more variety of brands. Every dealing with them as been smooth. Fast shipping, low prices, friendly communication if there's a problem.

don't worry the dea doesn't care about your 1200w grow. Still be very careful and tell no one but don't worry to much.

As everyone else has said... Nothing wrong with buying what you did. And they are a good group (HTG). It is understandable to get nervous just be smart and buy Local when you can.!
