I've the pH51. It's a tank. I went from calibrating each time I fed, to every other, to every third...etc...now days, I don't bother till I notice something outside the norm of what I expect to observe when coupling the same nutes over and over to the same source of water over and over.

hummm guess your using clean water then my meter would be 0.2 off after a month of use so a reading of 6.5 is really 6.3. and i would rinse the meter before each and every reading. my water comes from the tap 7.2-3ish and ppm's of 500-600

Keep your tip wet in 4.01 calibration solution... as Ive been told by 3 Hanna techs.

Good to check ANY meter at least once a month... plants live or die by PH in hydro.

The Hanna Checker 1 on ebay costs bout $35 delivered and I know folks who have used the same meter for 3+ yrs.
