hi all
i am currently running 2400w on various shades and i am changing when these are finished. i want 4*600w on parabolic shades for maximum spread, can anyone give me a rule of thumb extraction requirement for this room to keep temperature of my ladies correct, i live in the uk so heat is only a real problem for about a month, id rather be safe than sorry and get a happy room

yes samba thats the plan, at the moment ive got a portable air con unit but its too expensive to run. i was just wandering if there was a set size fan for wattage i.e 150mm fan per kw of light if you know what i mean
thanks for reply

I have 4 x 600's and went with the 12" Vortex (with a speed controller) which is rated at 1140cfm. My lights are not air cooled so I still require the use of AC. The 12" fan is too loud to run at full power, in hindsight I would use a pair of 6" fans (I think they're around 440cfm) because they're less noisy and you can have more even removal of hot air by spacing them apart.

Are your hoodes air cooled? if so around 150cfm per 600w should do the trick.

the rules are that its good when your plants don't burn.
if you run a small vent you are limited to how close you can place the light.
there are a lot of things to take into consideration - the temps outside, length of tubing, the hood etc.

Wow, why such a big reflector on a 600? It's only going to give you strong light in a 3X3 footprint, try to light any more and bud quality will suffer. Remember, you need 50 watts per square foot for flowering lights, keep that in mind in all of your math.

I second moving to air cooled hoods, and speed controlling a large fan is MUCH quieter than running a small fan on full speed, and will move more air. This will allow you to put the hoods closer to the canopy for those dense, rock-hard nugs of indica we all love.

Bright light = tighter buds!
