how much light?

how much light would be sufficient for 50 plants in a 12x15 ft. area the most i ever di was 29 under 1600 watts and i know i needed more all plants will be lst'd 1/2 are now and the other 1/2 r just out the cloner last night all in veg now. help please thanx fam. peace

if you are going with a horizontal lamp configuration , then the ideal would be 1000 watts per 4 x 4 foot grow ...so if you have a 12 x 12 foot area to cover\\9000 watts would be just about right .. can you get wired for that?

With a vertical setup you won't need as many lights. Are you going vertical or horizontal?

yes ... you can have/run both vert & horizontal configurations siumultaneously...

this is the ideal set up if you plan to grow large plants indoors ... in fact you need to do this to get good flower developement all up and down the plant stems...

what kind of headroom do you have? have you made plans for good ventilation?

to run a lamp vertical it depends on your gear and it's make-up, what i do is simply take off the hood/reflector, and let the bulb hang free with the cord suspended from above

(if you do this it is imperative to ALWAYS wear dark sunglass's when working in the room .. i stress this because you will be unleashing HID light @ 360 degrees & can cause eye damage!!)

an advantage is that you can get max yields with a low plant count ... if you are going SOG stlye then keep the lamps horizontal and flower early in veg @ about 2 feet tall ... dont pack the plants too tightly & give them space & LOTS of air movement ... peace

thankyou star i have 7feet of headroom thats for lights to fit and everythingthats why i lstd them this time kinda ran out if room last time and i even used the Gravity stuff from Humboldts own

as for ventalation i have a pretty good system now i think with an upgrade on fans it should work for me (im hopin) it goes out the chimney i have a upstairs so its pretty high up there as far as venting the a/c's i'm thinkin use the rubbermaids over the back of them screw them into the wall some caulk and a good fan i saw this on someone elses thread sorry i cant remember who they are venting the heat out the otherside of the basement
heres a pic of the exhaust before i added the flex that hangs by the light. it goes down and up the fire places ash collector thingamajig. peace.

my humble advice is to stay w/horizontal lamps ... beef up your ventilation and air movement

remember that more light will provide energy for bigger & better flower development

pump up those flowers!

thankyou for the advice im thinkin of puttin about 4 more 1000 on movers (i have 1 already) and 2-3 600 mh scattered out so ill have dual spectrum you think those ideas will work out? or should i just use all hps and no movers?

ill be runnin black domina blueberry and bubbleberry from clones

i also have 3 purple erkle beans i was gifted 4 beans from some stuff my buddy brought back from cali not sure of strain but was some excellant smoke

and some other bagseed stuff like 10 seeds from some decent dro i was gettin when i was out i figure ill practice with the bagseed since i never germed any before then ill go for it w/the rest ill use the paper towel method
