for me, i just go to the post office and ask for a stamped envelope (an envelope that has the postage on it already for those of you back woods folk) and then I ask them to add extra posage for a letter going to england and its usually like $1.80

BTW what does postage have to do with strains? I think this thread is int eh wrong section, but ohwell at least you got answers back eh!

USA to England postage

90 cents. For a regular letter.
Ask for a international air mail stamp.

Dont use regular stamps. I sent 2 orders this way and they never made it.. I have no idea why, they just never made it.

I guess this is why a lot of people say their mail never arrived. The only people qualified to tell you the postage is the mail service. It depends on the weight and type of item your sending. If you just pop a few stamps on and hope it's not very safe for your cash. Best to check with the post people and make SURE it's correct before sending. You might be throwing $100 bucks to the wind by not researching your order properly. Better still consider a form of recorded mail so you at least get a guarantee of delivery and a speedy service.

Accountability is the name of the game when sending cash in the mail.

how about 3 first class stamps, should that do ?
.......thought it would, so i sent the damn thing out last night , eek..

for future reference,,,, first class stamps are valid for American destinations only, (same for priority) -- like many have said before, YOU NEED INTERNATIONAL POSTAGE. that is how the next postman in line gets paid - otherwisw it's like over paying the USPS and underpaying the postman at the destination - so he tosses your cheap assed parcel.

I bet your teachers had special names for you huh?

if the USPS is nice, they might send it back to you, but you paid them to get it to another country, and thru rain, sleet or dead of night,,,,,

Ninety cents worth of postage from here - period. I tell the postal people I want enough postage to get to the destination. They give me a 90 cents postage stamp. I've done this every time. At least 6 times and have had no problem whatsoever.
