how much do you lose to mold?

Been growing bigger and fatter buds as I refine my growing technique, one consequence of this that I am dealing with is the fact that I am losing more to mold either during the ripening stage or the drying stage. My airflow is actually pretty good, or at least as good as it is going to get without adding more fans which I am hesitant to do (due to cost).

Id estimate that out of every 84 grams I harvest ~5 % is lost due to mold.

When I use to have this mold problem, I would take the fatter buds and break them down. When you see the mold happening, cut those fat buds into smaller buds. I know everyone likes a big bud ,but no one likes mold either..
Your humidity is to high.if ya don't want to have a mold problem get a dehumidifier

The greatest risk comes if you have condensation , make sure you dont hit the dew point during the dark cycle.

I use a cheap usb weather station to log temp and humidity in the winter when mould is an issue , this site has a usefull calculator , storage based but relevant .

A small additional fan solved my problems and cost little compared to runnng a dehumidifier.

I have the household A/C pumping directly into the tent, so the humidity stays pretty low.

Its really just due to the buds being too fat and too dense. I already have one fan going in there during lights out, cycles on every 2 hours and runs for 30 minutes.

Sure, I could add more fans or bigger fans, and maybe throwing a dehumidifier in there would help a little bit also, but more electrical devices = more $$$. What I retain by not throwing out moldy buds is lost buying more stuff and using more electrict.

What's your growing style? Do your plants have a big central cola? Or are you topping and getting an equal volume of many smaller colas?

dehumidifier and you wont see that happen at all.. also if you have monster buds, twist them before hanging on the line.. it opens them up a little and you will never see mold again
