How much can you push the light footprint w/gavitas/de bulbs?

I had been reading somewhere that the new de bulb ballasts were capable of lighting up larger parameters than their traditional counterparts, so instead of 4x4 more like 5x5 canopies and upward. Wondering how far exactly these can be pushed for space and how bigger rooms are spacing them and with what success?

Trying to plan out and gear up for a larger seed run for pheno selection and was looking at these as an option to optimize space efficiency.

Im thinking the same thing as far as optimizing space efficiency. The boys at my local shop are saying as much as 6x6 so theoretically I would be able to fit more under 2 lights than 4.

Il be checking back here for info as well as any info on how much ac will be needed for these lights as I've heard they put off some serious heat.

From my research, the manufacturers suggest that you light the whole room. I think that could complicate things for small or odd shaped rooms. I also hear the footprint is more rectangular. 5x6 for the 1k de.
