how much Bud for a good overly potent tincture

if memory suits me dosage is somehting like .25 - .5 a gram per 50 lbs body weight for good bud. it varies up or down from their
2.0 grams of cannabis per ounce of alcohol for a 200 pound would mean 1 shot is solid high, 2 is over the top, 3 is psychadelic
I like to be high before I drink so I prefer less alcohol more thcin a shot but thats me.
ou have to measure alcohol volume before and after and either fraction down or add more alcohol to the tincture to keep the dosage factored correctly
go overboard if its too strong you can always dilute it
if its too weak you gotta drink alot of booze

With my last harvest, I tried this tincture recipe...

It worked a treat. I know you want to use stronger alcohol, so you might want to alter the ratio a bit, but this might be a good starting point anyway. I also recall there being a fair bit of useful discussion in that thread as well about how high you could take the THC to ETOH ratio before you start wasting THC (putting so much in that it can't be effectively absorbed). There might still be some useful info in there somewhere, but I guess all of the nice info from quigo is now lost to us. I don't see why...

damn guys ounces and oz's.......i'm from europe....now i have to go google them measurments...plz in grams and in Deciliters or centiliters.....
but a exact recepie i did't find inthere...mostly i see 1/8 of a ounce for 2 oz fluids is used.....that is about 3.5 gram no???....thats per 29 ml a fluid oz...no?...thats 60 ml in total to make it easy.....
so these's atleast 33+ oz fluids in a Liter......at 3.5 grams a oz fluids....does't that make it about 100 grams for this tincture......

Are you using a hot/fast recipe or a no-heat/slow recipe?
I use heat, & while my recipe yields ~60 ml of tincture/3.5g bud, it uses 120 ml of alcohol - there's a 50% reduction.
So if you're doing a similar recipe - & I don't know if heating up a liter of 95% alcohol is a great idea, even in a water bath (make sure you have very good ventilation) - let's see: 1000/120=8.33, 8.33 x 3.5=29.115, so 30g bud + 1 liter alc = 500 ml tincture.
As for strength, you can keep reducing it until you get it where you want it. Cannabinoids start to evaporate around 127c & the boiling point of ethanol is ~78c.

hello guys ..thx for all the answers...
but i've learnd that it will be best to experiment with smaller amounts first....i found enough recepies on the net but all in some way diffrent.....so i will combine some stuff i found.....
so i changed the volumes to 2 times 250 ml.....in one i used 7 gram of bud and in the second jar i used 14 grams of A class bud......
Now some Q's..do i need to pre_bake the nugs in the oven....to activate the thc? or/and does tha happen when you heat the mixture and let it evaporate...lets say half of the mixture?
ohw yea...some say soak 6 hours...And some say the longer the better...What gives???

This is the thread that got me started with the Dragon; it has a lot of information.
Decarboxylating the bud transforms (inactive) THCA into (active) THC. Properly drying & curing the bud accomplishes most of that process; the oven step just sort of "tops up" the potency. The boiling point of ethanol is well below the temperature needed for decarboxylation, so decarbing is an important step in making Green Dragon.
As for time, I simmer the ground & decarbed bud in ~90ml for 20 minutes (timing from when the alk starts boiling, not from when you put it in the water bath), strain, press, & do a second wash in ~30ml for 10 minutes. The whole process takes less than an hour.
I can't speak to the other methods - this is the only way I've done it. I've made it about 10 times & it's worked beautifully each time.
