How many watts?

I am planing this new grow. This is my first grow in a commercial location. Its actually a old dive bar in a non populated area of the city its surrounded by auto work shops and there are no other walk in businesses near by. I dident pick the location an investor originally bought it to open up a collective but then they had a moratorium. But any ways.

So the building is stand alone and we own the building. Were going to be gutting it and setting up at least 2 flower rooms with at least 10k in lights in each room. and a large veg room

My question is how many watts do you think the dive bar that was in the place before us used? Is this going to affect my baseline? Is there anything i should know about commercial electricity?

I have no direct experience in this, but am curious myself... especially about zoning & potential city inspections...? This would be the primary concern, I would think...?

Power usage in an industrial/commercial area can pretty much be sky high without any concern... the shops next door will be a better gauge. You can simply argue that you have a machining and/or welding shop that utilizes a lot of power... or any millwork facility. We would have fire & osha inspections though, so...?

A dive bar didn't pull squat for wattage. Dim lights and crappy equipment.

Like the above poster suggested.......Your welding or running pottery ovens in there. Best to set up a small "Dummie shop" near the front door as cover.

Check the surrounding facilities. if they are automotive and/or heavy commercial / light industrial......drawing 25k watts shouldn't be a give away.

Make sure this place has a 200 amp panel minimum or your going to have issues.

woah woah...

talk to the realtor (sp?) purchased the building from he/she should have on file especially if its a commercial building last years electricity bills if that doesn't work contact the power company and just say hey I noticed there is a 200amp, 100 amp whatever it is panel in here and I was gonna get some new equipment but wanted to know how much juice all the stuff that's in here used last year or some other b.s.....

I would not recommend going from nothing to filling up a 200amp main just because theres a garage next door but thats just me.
