How many Quest 500's?

High! (Pun intended lol)

Putting together a 25 x 34 sealed room with 35,000 watts DE Gavitas and around 400 plants sitting in probably 5 gal grow bags (75% full of either coco or promix)

Im thinking around 500 gal per feed. (4000 pints)

They say water in, water out. But lets say if i feed 500 gallons (4000 pints) every 2-3 days. I need around 4000 pints removed in that 2-3 days? 4000÷3 = plants transpiring around 1333 pints per day.

Having a hard time deciding on how much dehuey power i need...was thinking 3ct Quest 500 (pints/24hr) Which is slightly above 1333 pints needed per day. They cost a fortune tho!

Is this over kill? I know daytime with ac and lights it will run drier but im worried about night time humidity in the room. Having a hard time believing it needs that much but idk for sure?

Anyone with a similar room throw a guy a bone on whats been working for you? Pint wise per day.

Thanks!

I'm not growing anywhere near that much, but generally you're transpiration estimate is accurate. I think the transpiration rate is 80%, but that depends on several things like life cycle and how hard you push the plants. If you hit a DLI (Daily Light Integral) of say 55 or above and a PPFD over 1850, you'll be watering all the time.

I'd contact Quest. They'll know for sure.

Thanks for the reply 🌱

First thing i did was contact Quest and surprisingly the guy didn't help much. Thought at least get a ballpark going off room size but yeah. Maybe i got a dud representative? Idk...

I agree with the constant watering especially if i go with coco. Hopefully not so much with some promix. I'd rather keep it simple with less res mixing, dialing in drip schedules so a peat based mix will most likely be the choice. But i dig coco soooo much! Other than the calcium part.

It's all foreign to me. Is that in feet? So like 100sqm, but 35 lights, so a third of the space for access? 66 meters, say 10L a meter, 660L a day. In old money, about 1400 pints if your American, which seems likely using units from 50 years ago. That meets your figures, but 1000 of that is used during the 12 hours of lights on, so you need 2000 capacity based on 24h figures.

There is less demand on the dehu's at night. about 50% less.

Edit: 10kw of extra heat and power loading. I wonder what the ducting they speak of can achieve. It doesn't look promising. You already have 35kw of lighting. That 10Kw used properly would offer most of the de-humidification and cooling requirement. Doing it with these units, means adding 15kw more of aircon, that will do all the de humidification itself. I can't see where this is heading
