How Many plants

Hi all i have just finished making my first little grow room.
Size is 3 by 1.5 by 6 feet 250hps 6inc passive in take from out side pc fan 40cfm for extaction .Quiestion is how many plants 2 12ltr air pots or 3 9.5ltr pots ill be growing in coco coir with hesi nuitrients.All the help and ideas needed as this is my first grow.lots thanks in advance

You can get quite a few in the beginning but once they get bigger the you have to move them elsewhere and if you have no where else then just start with a few to be safe.

need larger exhaust fan and I would say 4 well trained maintained plants into a screen or two - depends on your pot size or grow style and a bunch of things. Plus the strains - genetics that grow tall would be preferable some haze type. Since you are sayin its 3 feet wide - 1.5' deep and 6 ' tall - correct?

cheers for the info mate i.Iwas thining 3 plants 9.5ltr air pots this gives 1.5 foot per plant style off growing topped @ lst what ya think.about the fan i calculated the cfm off my space for 20 air changes an hour and it was 9cfm iwill have ahome made filter and about 2 feet ducting the fan i have is 40 cfm any more advise would be great cheers

20 air changes per hour is alot less than most people target. That equates to .333 changes per minute. The goal I've always heard is 2 changes per minute, so you're significantly lower than that. Also, a fan that small is going to have issue pushing air through any kind of filter. Sounds like you should consider getting a bigger fan, or more of them.

Yeah i agree - you're almost certainly gonna need more ventilation than that to cool a 250w HPS... especially if you're gonna pull/push through a filter and ducting. Have you tested the setup yet to see what temps you're running with lights on? You should always test for a while, with everything running, before putting plants in any new setup. I think you're gonna find it gets hot in there real quick.

3 pots sounds good for this space tho I would say. That seems like the best way to use the space.

Not to sound like a broken record but you definitely need better ventilation.... As for plant numbers with a 250 your gonna want to keep plants small if you have the time to water every day or two might i suggest a sog 4 plants per sq/ft is 18 smaller plants depending on pot size you could probably fit more.
