How many thousand watts light can you get away with before LE starts movin in on ur ass?

In other words how high of a power bill attracks attention?

I am sorry but go and buy the marijuana horticulture book by Jorge cervantes or do a search in these forums, I dont know how many times I have come accrost this same question on here. Not trying to be a dick but it cludders up the forums with the same quesions. Over and over and over and over and over......you get the point

Sorry about the jerky Vantranist. I have talked with different growers in the different parts of the state, and the consensus seems to be keep the $$$ below $2g per month. The people I asked have/use 4-6 bedroom houses and have 8 lights going on.

Personally, I have 2k in flower + a 400w 24/7 in veg and I've not had any issues or scares because of my power usage.

ALWAYS PAY THE BILL IN FULL DON'T GET BEHIND AND HAVE THEM GO "GEEZ THIS PLACE IS 2 MONTHS LATE AND THEY OWER $4GS WHAT IS GOING ON THERE?"

I use 4000 watts of light plus air conditioning, fans, exaust ect. and have not had a problem yet. I have been doing this for years and at multiple locations. If you don't go too crazy you should be fine. One location I have 5 lights and it's been a year and no problems. Pay your bill on time all the time and you are just a number in the system. As soon as you are late that is when human eyes see your bill. I know this because I have a cousin that works for hydro. Even if a month late with a 4000 watt grow there should be no problem as your bill will not be extremely high compared with some legit users. Just my 2 cents - hope this helps!

Thanks... I have a good idea on what i can get away with now.

Ill be using 2KW's, two ACs , water pumps, + fans.... This shouldent be too much of a problem.

Ill be in a 4br and conserve as much as possible, change my house lights to cfls, turn off tv ect...

Hell at my old house my Power bill was like $600 a month without growing. Just between AC and shitty instalation.

I think the real question is how many total Kilo Watts are billed not how much money. I know the two are related but their is a big diff from 4k at 24 hours and 4k at 12 hours of use or a combination of the mix. That is where my interest is? With just household use and grow room mine seems high for a total

I usually use 4 - 1000 watt HPS, but they are usually running 12 hours a day so really it is not that much power. It's like running 2000 watts 24 hours a day, and an AC alone can be 1500 watts, and your fridge and freezer can use 500, so really it all can be accounted for. The police usually stress power consumption as the reason for a bust, but thats what they want everyone to believe. It makes people worried and less people set up large grows. The reality of it is it is impossible for the power company to notice anything abnormal unless you are running 20 lights in a residence. The cops want us to worry. Just my input on the matter.

seriously id say the bill should be under 1-2gs depends on your rates

now its the smell factor with that many plants you got to take in account expecially if your in a townhome or apt

i also pay more than what i owe ever time to make my bill look lower

Dude you go to one of those shps that takes payment for gas bills, phone bills, electric bills... they usually have POBoxes for rent... international calling cards for sale... Money Gram/Western Union.... that's where you go when you gotta handle business.
Its all cash man. you crazy?

I've spent 400-500 in cash a month on electric and that isn't bad but the mention of paying a few grand cash every month makes me wonder if people would remember you as the guy who comes in every month with 25 benjamins in your wallet just for your electric bill. I guess people don't sweat it like i do though. Also yes i am crazy.
