How many 2 galllon grow bags can fit in a 3 x 3 flood table?

helping a friend setup a closet grow. thinking about fitting as many 2 gallon bags and fliping them 12/12. How many plants do you think I can fit? Trying to estimate how much soil to buy. thanks

width of the bags? well, you can at least have 9 in there (largest would be 12" wide):

now if they are 8 inches wide you can fit 12:

probably will want to have a short veg with all those crammed in there, if they get too big larger plants will "smoother" the smaller ones, which decreases their yeild, growth rate, and possibly potency.

Should we just say screw the grow bags and just fill the whole 3 x 3 flood table with soil? Have people used flood tables as soil beds?

To answer your question: If I remember correctly you can fit 25 in a 3x3. 8" a peice filled and shoved together. I'd go this route rather than making it into a soil bed because it will be easier to get the water to drain.

maybe use a soilless mix (like FF light warrior) and fill the whole tray...then set up drip or hand water..ive seen this done w/ 18 plants and it filled nicely
