What temps will cause the color changes. And at what time?
I was curious as I see some purples and such, but nothing awesome.

I keep the room my boxes are in at 74. So with lights off that's the lowest temp i can go down too.

All it would take is changing my thermostat at night. :)

I can't seem to find any info pertaining to what variety growing?

In my defense I'm nearly blind and the magic eye I stole from the witches in clash of the titans is all the way on the other side of the lair!

I recall reading that a minimum of a 15° temp difference is required to initiate color change.

However, I'm of the opinion that some plants have the ability to produce anthocyanins easier/better than others so genetics plays a huge role in wether plants will purp up or not.

I had 2 Blueberry plants that never purpled up even when they were exposed to freezing temps. Orange Glue, in the same environment, purpled up about 70+% of the plants (I had 5 turn & 2 stay green).

At the moment Caribe, Zameldica and a Haze x Kali

but info in general is excellent. Obviously each strain/pheno may be different. But a general place to start is great!.

Hi Levitationofme,

It fully depends on the genetics. Colorful strains/phenos will show pigmentation regardless of the temps, although they will show more intense pigmentation during flowering with temps between 10-20ºC.

Hope it helps with your doubt. Kind regards

Improvements being made in my cabinets after I harvest this run.

I was thinking of connecting them into a series as far as my carbon filtration.
suck air thru one chamber into next before exhausting it out. I can up the airflow with adjustable fan which is on low now.

Then I may put the CO2
tank on the first cabinet and the second one would get sloppy seconds before I vented it out back into the world. Not using the gas now.

Also adding some extra LED lights

A big upgrade would be a Chilled Beer dispensing unit. I feel a good brew
is handy to have around. It makes the nutrients mix easier and the
gaseous expulsions from my belly make everything more humorous.
Less chance I take myself too seriously.

If you have green plants and purple plants, same parents,
same grow, same temps, etc., are there known traits,
other than color, that will be distinct with one or the other,
I wonder.

Is the purple one preferable to the green one, or vice versa, generally speaking.

As long as the plants don't freeze the colder you go the faster the color and more profound it changes. :tiphat:

Check this thread for info on low temperature to induce colors.
Nice pics.
