many years i have sat and studied internet cannabis forums in search of a way to grow cannabis. Not super duper nothern sour strawberry silver haze. but cannabis that i can grow, smoke and get high.

I do beleive we have lost a key spirit of these forums and that is to provide not only advice into the finer art of cultivation but also the bare basics. The only true way to learn is not to read and be told but to practice our skills.


i wish to create a thread that will deal with the bare basics of cannabis cultivation search issues as how to handel bag seed , alternative grow supplies, alternative soil, lighting. ect.

how important is potency? I beleave it relates to the personal tolerence level of the consumer. True? Does the person who grows for sparce personel use need super duper silver haze?

Gave a friend some seeded african import brick weed last night. it does nothing for me as a regular smoker but im not sure he could have been more stoned....Ok he could have but he was better not to be? Imagein handing him sour diesel, icolater...!?!

Blah. WIndow sills do not give sufficient light for most cannabis. I would suggest to you either get some CFL's, or if you demand window sill style, get some lowryder.

are you sure window sills dont give enough light. i would have thought the sun would give if not more light better light then anything us humans can create. diluted natural light are man made artifical light

Window sill could work IMO but it would have to be the best window in the building for lit hours per day. CFLs are cheep and you can controll the light cycle with a regular $5 mechanical timer. I use power strips and little mini sockets that plug right into the power strip like in the pic.. but build a better reflector than I did lol.

No, not when the seed has just germinated.... its hard to tell the exact genetics of a plant in general mainly due to all of the crosses and thousands of strains available...

pollen, questions like "What is the best genetics to grow" will not get you an answer... people can debate this forever and theres not one right answer... there are better strains than others to grow, but no one strain is king.... first comes grow skills, then comes genetics... work on your grow skills then worrry about getting a high class strain like Sour Diesel IBL.

depends on the grower, the strain, the lights, envrionment... etc.... yes, you can flower a plant that is 2 -3 nodes deep but different strains will vary greatly.... also, new plants dont have large root systems and the heavy light of a HPS during flower can stress it tremendously.

as i recall, cannabis usually needs around a minimum of 5 hours of direct sunlight a day to do well.

@MJH.... 1. as soon as it has established a root system to sustain itself, it is considered to be a plant, no longer a cutting or seedling.....if from clone....i'd say max 2 weekfrom the cut till its in veg....seed-> as soon as the 1st set of TRUE LEAVEs grow.

2. yes you can top a plant an infinate number of times...but keep in mind each time you do this you are stressing the plant....consider mabey a ScRoG or some LST.

3. no it makes the plant more a bush....but CAN not will cause your plant to go hermie= shit bud

4. put your hand about 1/2 of an inch above your plants with the light on....if your hand is comfortable in the light (not feeling heat as closer= hotter) then thats the closest you can hang it
