i went to walmart and lowes today, couldnt find one, and the help they had said they never heard of it.. so i will prolly grab one online.. but for a stealth settup, exactly how loud are these things, i guess i could build a small box for it to sit in and insulate the crap out of it, but how many decibles are they, does it sound like a jet airplane in the room? thanks in advance.

They aren't very loud at all for the amount of air they move. I run mine on low and you can't hear them outside the room.

Never heard one but I've seen them at Home Depot. I think I've heard of Lowes having them too. In summer I'm sure a bunch more places have it.

Good luck on the fan hunt

I had to order my Stanley. It's not loud at all and puts out a decent amount of air.

i'm running 3 full throttle, one venting lights, one blowing air through room, one in carbon scrubber. i can hardly hear them standing outside room, i mean almost no nose at all. they work great i'm on 4 or 5 grows perpetual with no problems. hope this helps later SI

i had to order one off the net because i couldn't find one in stores. it moves a shit ton of air and doesn't vibrate like crazy or make a lot of noise. i have it in the room that i sleep in and it doesn't bother me at all.

not too loud for the amount of air they move is RIGHT! :)

ive gotten mine down to NEARLY SILENT levels, at least on LOW.

This is the inside of my FLOWERBOX... i put the stanley blower in a "backpack" i built on the back of the cabinet.

I cut out the grilles on the intakes and exhaust side to reduce WHOOSH.

I have heard of people blocking off the "motor side" intake, but THE FAN NEEDS *B*O*T*H* intakes to perform fully! all you have to do is LOOK in there and see the blower has TWO sides, and BOTH intakes are needed!! i cut the grille off there too as you can see...

these are some plans i made in GoogleSketchUp... note the intake is an 8" not six.... :)

MOST importantly for me, was padding the area *AROUND* the output with foam. this created ZERO restriction while at the same time NEARLY silencing the fan's output entirely... :bat: :woohoo:  :joint:
