How loud is this fan?

I am trying to build a stealth dresser setup but i have no idea if the fan I want to use is quiet. I am assuming it is but then i don't feel like making an ass out of myself today so does anyone have any experience with this.

I don't know about that fan, but even if it's not quiet, you could use some ducting, and place the fan in box muted with foam and egg cartons.

The question isn't sound but, "will it work?" The answer is NO!

Duct boosters and bilge fans show up from time to time. Everyone oohs and ahs over the shape and designs. Everyone who buys them regrets the purchase.

If you have to go the Home Depot route, look into: bath fans, the Stanley Blower, axials.

The fan he linked to is an axial fan. So are most bath fans.

If you are running no more than 250 watts, you are sure to get the 6 inch axial, and you don't duct it through any type of filter, that axial fan will be enough. I cool a 250 watt MH in a Darkroom DR80 with a 6 inch axial duct booster.

You will have to look into some sort of chemical odor filtration, which isn't quite ideal, but this is the biggest compromise of smaller stealth cabs. The fan will not be very noisy, perhaps perceptible in a silent room, but easily concealable.

There's an old joke about Microsoft. The day they make something that doesn't suck is the day they start making vacuum cleaners. This is the M$ of fans. It fails to suck in an application where maximum suckification is required. It's a duct booster intended to aid a much larger fan in long runs. Alone, it won't handle the back pressure of a cab and filter.

True. I could've been more specific. HD sometimes has computer/electronics sections where they sell boxed axials, both AC and DC, suitable for computers and such. My Toyo has been running virtually non-stop for 15 years. These will better handle the back pressure your booster won't and allow for a proper charcoal filter.

I recently got a s&p, as the panasonic whisperline was too large for my plans, and it's quiet and very compact. Not very expensive, either.

Those would probably work great for a tubbermaid grow with a carbon sheet... Waste of money if you're thinking anything bigger of it. I got one I'd give to you for free... Maybe if I fast dried my herb it'd get put to some use but nah, collects dust in my grow nelia bin...
