How long to soak peat moss before use?

I've got some peat moss spongepots I'm oging to use for germination.

My seeds are soaking right now, but I'm not sure how long to soak the peat moss for before I put them in.

The instructions say to soak them until they've expanded, but I read other places that you should soak them for 24 hours.

Thoughts?

A few minutes in PHed Water and there ready to go, no need to wait 24hrs IMHO although so do...

Im not sure what make it is,I just personally always like to make sure.

Do you have to use peat pots? I personally don't like them. What are they going into after germination? Hydro/soil?

I prefer to start my little ones in 16oz cups of a very simple mix of 1/3 peat, 1/3 Expert Gardner potting soil, 1/3 perlite...with a tablespoon of dolomite lime and a quarter cup of Espoma Bio-tone 4-3-3 per gallon. It's all available at WalMart and makes a wonderfully light mix with just the right amount of nutes for a vigorous beginning.

I've NEVER gotten or seen results like this with a peat pot. These seedlings are only 10 days old. You can't beat a good start...
