How long to let my topped plants go?

I topped my plants last night. They do not show any signs of stress as I can tell. In fact, they have grown substantially overnight.

How long I should let them grow before I switch to flower?

The little secondary leaves between the stalk and the branches are only about 1/4" tall right now. I believe this is what will become the new main shoots. Is that correct?

I ask because I have only two to three more inches of height before I have to start flowering because of height restrictions and stretch.

I like to let 'em grow a few nodes before the flip. If height is an issue, tie 'em down. They'll grow sideways just fine...

Height is indeed an issue, but until I weed out the males, width is an issue as well. I don't think there will be enough for 3 nodes. Maybe there will be enough for 2. I should have some room to bend them if I have 50% males.

I guess it just depends on how many males I get, but without a good way to figure that out right now, I don't know what I can do. My other cab has sprouts in it.

Yeah, it sounds like you are just tight on space period. Better hope you don't have too much stretch during flower.

But, you can bend and tie and train a lot. The plant is very resilient in that respect.

Good luck

Much thanks sir. I only have 2-3" more height because I'm planning for up to 3x stretch in flower. I hope I can figure out the males quickly and can bend the females as needed.

Thanks for the input!

Today I transplanted from my ~8-12oz cups to 32 oz containers.

I cut off the lowest node's branches (the single serrated leaf branches) and buried them up to the next node.

I soaked them with my nutrient mix (modified dr bud formula) and then cleaned the leaves as best as I could with ph 6.0 water and clean hands. I hope any nutrient mix that gets on the lower leaves won't hurt them too much. :(

I managed to take 2 tiny cuttings from the nodes I cut off. both had a pair of 3 leafs and a new node forming above that. They were not very long, but I think at least 1 of them will root.

Hopefully this will let me develop at least 2 nodes above my top before I switch to flower. I'm very anxious to switch to flower so I can gender the plants and move the males out to make room for other plants that will be ready to move in soon.
